Method of regulating one or more component values in monochloramine production using real-time electrochemical sensing
System (100) and method of automatically controlling an active oxidant concentration (e.g. sodium hypochlorite) for a process of producing monochloramine comprising applying metered amounts of an oxidant solution and an amine solution to a defined area (114). An electrochemical measurement device is provided in association with the oxidant solution and prior to the defined area, N comprising at least first and second electrodes and an output terminal. A predetermined voltage potential is applied across the first and second electrodes, wherein an obtained amperometric measurement corresponds to a real-time concentration of the active oxidant in the oxidant solution. A feedback signal is generated based on the obtained measurement via the output terminal to a controller (108), which automatically regulates, in real-time and based at least in part on the control signal, the metered amount of oxidant solution provided to the defined area.
METHOD OF DEWATERING
Disclosed are methods of dewatering solid byproduct. In some embodiments, the solid byproduct contains particles and is produced from a fermentation process for making an oxygenated compound such as ethanol. The method comprises a chemical sequence for conditioning (pre-treating) the solid byproduct to be dewatered. The solid byproduct (in water) is treated with alkaline material to increase its pH to about 7-8.5. Coagulant is added to the alkaline-treated solid byproduct to reduce charge on the solid byproduct. An agglomerating polymer is then added to increase the average size of the solid byproduct particles to a desired size (e.g., at least about 1 mm). Dewatering can further use known technologies such as screw press, belt press, filter press, centrifuge, and/or a dryer to separate the conditioned or pre-treated byproduct from water. Also disclosed are methods of producing oxygenated product, as well as methods of producing animal feed and/or fertilizer, respectively.
SEPARATOR SYSTEM FOR USE IN AGRICULTURAL PROCESSING
An agricultural processing system includes a process that uses water and produces wastewater having insoluble solids, a pump configured to receive and pressurize the wastewater from the process, and a plurality of centrifugal separators connected in parallel and configured to receive the wastewater from the pump. The separators are each configured to separate out the insoluble solids from the wastewater to produce a cleaned wastewater.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF LIQUID WASTE STREAMS
The disclosure relates to anaerobic digestion of liquid waste streams. In one embodiment, the system for treating liquid waste comprises: an acid forming chamber; a plug-flow methanic chamber downstream from the acid forming chamber; and a weir structure provided between the acid forming chamber and the methanic chamber.
Methods and Systems for Treating Phosphogypsum-Containing Water
Methods for treating phosphogypsum-containing water are disclosed. The water may be treated so as to promote precipitation of one or more target constituents and to facilitate downstream membrane treatment. A coagulant may be added to promote phosphate recovery. Ammonia may optionally be removed. Related systems are also disclosed.
Seal gas optimization systems and methods for a direct reduction process
A method and system for operating a seal gas compressor utilized in a direct reduction process including: monitoring a pH level of a water stream used in the seal gas compressor, wherein the pH level of the water stream is affected by a reformer flue gas stream that comes into contact with the water stream, wherein the monitoring step is carried out one or more of upstream of the seal gas compressor and downstream of the compressor; and adjusting the pH level of the water stream to maintain the pH level of the water stream within a predetermined range based on feedback from the monitoring step. The method includes maintaining the pH level of the water stream upstream of the seal gas compressor in a range between 7.5 and 10 and maintaining the pH level of the water stream downstream of the seal gas compressor in a range between 7.8 and 9.5.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT AND TREATMENT METHOD THEREOF
A wastewater treatment equipment and a treatment method of a wastewater are provided. The wastewater treatment equipment includes: a microfiltration unit, configured to receive and filter a wastewater to obtain a solution; a membrane salt separation unit, configured to receive the solution and separate monovalent ions and multivalent ions from the solution to obtain a first solution including the monovalent ions and a second solution including the multivalent ions; a first evaporative crystallization unit, configured to crystallize the first solution to form a monovalent salt; and a second evaporative crystallization unit, configured to crystallize the second solution to form a mixed salt; the microfiltration unit is connected to the membrane salt separation unit, and the first evaporative crystallization unit and the second evaporative crystallization unit are both directly connected to the membrane salt separation unit, the wastewater treatment equipment can achieve the standard discharge of wastewater.
Method of Anaerobically Treating Wastewater Including a Buffer Pre-Acidification Tank Operated as a Moving Bed Bioreactor
The present invention relates to a system or process for anaerobically treating wastewater. The system employs a pre-treatment unit that includes an MBBR having biomass supported on biofilm carriers. The biomass hydrolyzes or leads to a level of hydrolysis of particulate matter and acidifies the wastewater. In the process, the biomass yields relatively high acid production rates while employing a relatively short hydraulic retention time.
Method of Controlling Filtration Time, Water Purifier and Device
A filtering time control method includes testing water quality to obtain a water quality status value, determining whether a current filtration meets requirements. Based on whether the current filtration meets the requirements, setting a duration of the next filtering based on the current filtration duration. Adaptive adjustment of the duration of filtration may ensure a filtering effect while saving water resources.
