09815718 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A method of controlling addition rate of an odor control chemical to a wastewater line by adding odor control chemical to the wastewater. The method includes measuring a level of dissolved sulfides in the wastewater line using a sulfide probe placed in said wastewater line, transferring data on the level of dissolved sulfides to a computing unit, determining a required odor control chemical addition rate in said computing unit based on said level of dissolved sulfides, and adding the odor control chemical at said required addition rate. The method allows for accurate on-line control of the level of H.sub.2S in the wastewater line.

The disclosure relates to a system for separating waste. The waste separating system includes a compacting assembly, a liquid diverting assembly, and a controller configured to control aspects of the compacting assembly and the liquid diverting assembly. The waste separating system can divert waste liquid from a manufacturing assembly to a liquid diverting assembly, where a controller is configured to selectively control a flow of the waste liquid to a drain or to a storage tank.

Hybrid wastewater treatment
09758405 · 2017-09-12 · ·

A process for the biological treatment of wastewater in which the performance of a conventional activated sludge system is improved by adding an aerobic granular biomass system in a hybrid parallel process configuration. Waste biomass and suspended material from the aerobic granular biomass system is introduced into the conventional activated sludge system for this purpose. In the hybrid process configuration the advantages of both systems are combined to produce new advantages, while drawbacks of the individual systems are reduced to great extent.

METHOD FOR REMOVING DISSOLVED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM WASTEWATER

A method for removing biologically recalcitrant soluble organic compounds from wastewater simultaneously in an activated sludge process comprising an aeration tank and a solid-liquid separation unit, in which method at least one Al and/or Fe based inorganic metal coagulant is added to the wastewater in the activated sludge process and/or prior to conveying wastewater to an activated sludge process.

METHOD FOR ECOLOGIC CONFIGURATION OF OIL PRODUCTION HIGH-SALT WASTEWATER ARTIFICIAL WETLAND TO REALIZE UP-TO-STANDARD OPERATION IN WINTER

A method for ecologic configuration of an oil production wastewater artificial wetland to realize up-to-standard operation in winter. When artificial wetland is utilized to treat oil production high-salt wastewater, ecologic configuration of subsurface and surface flow artificial wetland is modified to realize up-to-standard operation in winter. Subsurface flow artificial wetland is composed of soil matrix, water distribution pipe disposed on bottom of soil matrix, wrapped with water-permeable nonwoven cloth and configured to deliver wastewater, and reeds with root systems growing on an inner side of wall of water distribution pipe, stems growing on outer side of wall of water distribution pipe and length being greater than thickness of soil matrix; and surface flow artificial wetland is composed of soil matrix, reeds growing on matrix, water, winter aquatic salt-resistant cold-liking plants, block-stocked fishes, shrimps, crabs, mussels, Mytilus edulis, oysters or clams and artificial sand dam.

Treatment of wastewater

The present invention provides a method of treating wastewater in a wastewater system. The wastewater system comprises a treatment plant comprising a treatment space and a sewer system comprising a sewer space. The treatment plant further comprises a treatment inlet for supplying wastewater to the treatment system from the sewer system. The method comprises the step of: providing a treatment parameter being significant for purification of wastewater in the treatment plant, determining an actual spare plant capacity indicating an amount of wastewater which can be supplied to the treatment space, and determining an actual spare wastewater storage volume indicating an amount of wastewater which can be retained in the sewer space. The amount of wastewater supplied through the treatment inlet to the treatment plant is varied based on the treatment parameter, the actual spare plant capacity, and the actual spare wastewater storage volume.

WATER MANAGEMENT FOR AN INDUSTRIAL SITE

Provided are an apparatus and a method for biological treatment of an organic wastewater where it is possible to efficiently remove organic matter under high load while reducing the amount of air used for aerobic biological treatment and substantially decreasing the amount of sludge generated. The apparatus is provided with: a first biological treatment tank which has a fixed-type immobilized biocarrier and an aeration means; a second biological treatment tank to which a treated liquid from the first tank is introduced so as to perform treatment using suspended microorganisms, and which has an aeration means; and a sedimentation tank in which solid-liquid from the second tank is separated said liquid into settled sludge and treated water, wherein the apparatus has an influent line through which an organic wastewater is introduced to the first tank and the second tank, and a return line through which part of settled sludge discharged from the tank is returned to the tank.

Synergistic chemical oxidative and photocatalytic enhancer system (scopes) for wastewater remediation

Leachate remediation is performed by synergistic chemical oxidation and photocatalytic-oxidation enhancer system (SCOPES) of municipal landfill leachate to a level that is safe for disposal within regulatory guidelines. The physico-chemical (chemical, spectroscopic, elemental, microstructural and thermal) characteristics of the pre- and post-treated landfill leachate have been investigated to examine the utility of advanced oxidation (AO) processes such as SCOPES to decontaminate the municipal landfill leachate and/or toxic organic wastewater. The experimental results demonstrated successful lowering of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and UV-Vis absorbance for constituent contaminants in the leachate and/or wastewater solutions.
