SHORTCUT NITRIFICATION METHOD FOR SEWAGE TREATMENT

The present application relates to the field of sewage treatment, and specifically relates to a shortcut nitrification method for sewage treatment. The shortcut nitrification method for sewage treatment provided in the present application comprises the following steps: adding a shortcut nitrification accelerator to sewage. The shortcut nitrification accelerator comprises 2-30 parts by weight of an inorganic hydroxylamine and 0.1-20 parts by weight of an inorganic ammonium salt. The pH of sewage is 6.5-6.95. The shortcut nitrification method for sewage treatment provided in the present application can significantly increase nitrite accumulation rate, and control a biological nitrification reaction at a stage of nitrite accumulation, thereby facilitating a wastewater denitrification process, improving the wastewater treatment effect, and having good engineering application value.

The ballasted system may comprise a ballast reactor tank configured to provide a ballasted effluent, and a source of ballast material fluidly connected to an inlet of the ballast reactor tank. The system may further comprise a bypass line having an inlet fluidly connected to the source of wastewater, a first outlet fluidly connected to the ballasted system, and a second outlet fluidly connected to the fixed film biological reactor, the bypass line configured to bypass the fixed film biological reactor.

The methods include diluting the animal organic material to produce an organic material slurry, anaerobically digesting the organic material slurry to produce a biogas and a digestate, separating the digestate to produce a digestate solids and a filtrate, removing ammonia from the filtrate, removing organic contaminants and divalent anions from the filtrate, concentrating the filtrate to produce a retentate and a permeate, combining the digestate solids and the retentate to produce a solids product, and returning the permeate to dilute the animal organic material. Systems for treatment of animal organic material are also disclosed herein. The systems include a dilution tank, an anaerobic digester, a first solids-liquid separation subsystem, an ammonia-reducing column, a second solids-liquid separation subsystem, a production water storage tank, and a solids product tank.

A method of determining a disinfectant composition of a municipal water supply from a water sample that includes: (a) obtaining a water sample from a water source at a sampling location; (b) adding a chlorine-containing material to the water sample in the presence of an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) measurement device; (c) generating a plurality of ORP measurements during addition of the chlorine-containing material to the water sample; (d) estimating a concentration of one or more of free ammonia, fully combined ammonia, monochloramine, or a mixture of dichloroamine and trichloroamine in the water sample in which the estimation is derived from the relationship between the added chlorine material and the plurality of ORP measurements; and (e) determining a disinfectant composition of the water source at the water sampling location from the concentration calculation. A method of determining free ammonia composition is also included.
