ON-LINE AND CONTINUOUS MEASUREMENT OF ORGANIC CARBON IN PETROLEUM REFINERY DESALTER BRINE WATER TO MONITOR, CONTROL AND OPTIMIZE THE DESALTER PROCESS UNIT

Disclosed herein are systems and methods method of treating wastewater. The method comprises measuring total organic carbons (TOC) in a stream of wastewater (202) from a processing plant (204), wherein the TOCs are measured in the stream of wastewater (202), providing the measured TOC's to a processing device (210), determining, based on the measured TOCs in the stream of wastewater (202), a treatment protocol for the stream of wastewater (202), and treating the wastewater stream (202) by controlling a feed control unit (212) in accordance with the determined treatment protocol.

Water treatment system

This water treatment system is provided with: a reverse osmosis membrane device; a biofilm treatment device that has a carrier, on a surface of which is formed a biofilm, and that treats water to be treated before the water to be treated is transmitted through the reverse osmosis membrane device; and at least one of a water to be treated stoppage period circulation means and a water to be treated stoppage period supply means that are driven when the intake of new water to be treated is stopped. The water to be treated stoppage circulation means supplies and circulates water to be treated from a water to be treated discharge outlet side of the biofilm treatment device to a water to be treated supply port side. The water to be treated stoppage period supply means supplies new water to be treated to the biofilm treatment device.

Treatment of fertigation water

Methods and systems for electrochemical treatment of fertigation water for use and for recycling in agricultural systems such as in controlled environment agricultural systems.

AUTOMATED PROCESS FOR TREATMENT OF REFINERY WASTEWATER

The present invention relates to a process for refinery wastewater treatment. More particularly, the present invention relates to an automated process for treatment of refinery wastewater. The process of the present invention provides complete automation for controlling different critical parameters that enhance biological activity of activated sludge process (ASP) and helps in significant reduction in sludge recycling that increases the treatment efficiency.

METHOD FOR REMOVING AMMONIACAL NITROGEN FROM HYPERSALINE EFFLUENTS THROUGH A CONSORTIUM CONTAINING HIGH-SALINITY-RESISTANT HETEROTROPHIC NITRIFYING AND AEROBIC DENITRIFYING MICROORGANISMS

The invention discloses a method to provide a consortium containing heterotrophic nitrifying and aerobic denitrifying microorganisms from an activated sludge originating from effluent treatment plants. The microbial consortium is capable of removing ammoniacal nitrogen from substrates with high salinity with superior efficiency. Thus, the microbial consortium from the described method can be applied to purify hypersaline effluents contaminated with nitrogen. Therefore, the use of the microorganism consortium provided to remove ammoniacal nitrogen from hypersaline effluents and a method therefor are also part of the scope of the invention.

Monitoring and control of unit operations for generating steam from produced water

In a process and apparatus for treating produced water, the produced water flows through a series of treatment units. A portion of the produced water may by-pass one or more of the treatment units but the by-pass portion may be such that the treated water is still acceptable, for example for discharge or reuse. Concentrations of oil and grease, organic carbon, silica, pH or related parameters in the produced water may be monitored and used to control the process or apparatus. Control of the process may involve one or more of altering a by-pass portion, altering the addition of chemicals, and altering the operation of a unit process. The process may be controlled to respond to upset conditions, or such that the concentration of one or more limiting contaminants is near, but not over, a specified maximum for re-use or discharge.

Method and system for filtration and filtration cake layer formation

The present invention relates to a method of filtering a feed and waste water treatment system using the filtration method. The method utilizes a filtration cake for the filtration, which filtration cake is formed by elements contained in a liquid having a different composition than the feed to the filtered. The invention relates in particular to a method for filtering a liquid containing solid particles of different sizes which utilizes a filtration cake formed at least partly and preferably only from particles contained in said liquid containing solid particles of different sizes. The particles of the filtration cake are deposited on a filtration cake support and the method involves separation of the liquid containing solid particles of different sizes into two fractions: one fraction containing solid particles above a certain size and one containing smaller particles, and filtering the fraction containing smaller particles through the filtration cake. According to preferred aspects of the invention, the feed to be filtered is activated sludge supernatant and the filtration cake is formed from floes of an activated sludge mixed liquor.
