SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTINUOUS MEASUREMENT OF AN ANALYTE
20180148360 · 2018-05-31 ·

Described herein is a system to provide continuously measurements of an analyte present in a fluid sample, particularly dissolved oxygen in wastewater. The system comprises a sample chamber absent of ambient light to contain the sample and in many embodiments employs a non-invasive method of measuring the analyte and determining the change over time in the concentration of the analyte. It is also an aspect of the invention to deliver analyte measurements in real-time and provides the operator with feedback in substantially less time after sample collection than previously accomplished in the field. It is another aspect of the invention to simultaneously or at least in a substantially short period of time thereafter measure temperature to remove initial error encountered at the start of analyte measurement at least until the sample chamber reaches thermal equilibrium.

EQUIPMENT AND PROCESS FOR LIQUID/GAS REACTION OR MIX
20180056250 · 2018-03-01 ·

The object of the invention is to achieve a more efficient and complete mix between a liquid and gas by means of a system comprising 4 components in order to carry out a reaction or mixing process that improves the contact, and as a result, the reaction or mixing between a liquid and a gas, followed by a recovery stage of the gas that does not react during the reaction or formation of said mixture. This gas is recycled to the reaction or mixing zone, permitting the improvement of the efficiency and the cost of the reaction or mixing process between the liquid and the gas.

The disclosed embodiments provide a technique for modeling a marine carbon dioxide removal system. The technique includes generating, via a plume dispersal simulation, a plurality of trajectories for a plurality of particles associated with a marine carbon dioxide removal intervention. The technique also includes computing, based on a set of intervention concentrations associated with the plurality of trajectories, (i) a set of carbonate system values and (ii) a set of air-sea flux values over a time period associated with the plurality of trajectories.
