Treatment system and method for drinking water
A water treatment system comprises a flow path through a first activated carbon filter, a second activated carbon filter downstream of the first activated carbon filter, a particulate filter downstream of the second activated carbon filter, for example a ceramic membrane, and a UV sterilizer downstream of the particulate filter. Ozone is introduced into the process water ahead of a water storage vessel for storing treated water produced by the system. A recycle subsystem is periodically operated to withdraw treated water from the water storage vessel to form recycled water, introduce the recycled water to the water lines upstream of the UV sterilizer, and return the recycled water to the water storage vessel. A main programmable logic controller (PLC) controls a flow of the process water through the water treatment system and controls the recycle subsystem.
Remediation of Food Production and Processing Effluents and Waste Products
The subject invention provides methods for improving the treatment of effluents and waste matter produced during food processing and production. In particular, the subject invention provides methods for remediating fats, oils and greases (FOG), suspended solids, proteins, and other organic matter that are discharged from plants that process, for example, meats, poultry, seafood, dairy and plant-based oils. The methods of the subject invention utilize a customized microbial cocktail comprising facultative anaerobes, in combination with one or more microbial growth by-products, e.g., enzymes and/or biosurfactants, to digest and/or liquefy food processing waste matter.
Dielectric Barrier Discharge For Ballast Water Treatment Using Optimized Voltage Shape Control
A Dielectric Barrier Discharge system controller for controlling a fluid treatment by a Dielectric Barrier Discharge system is provided. Therein, the strength of an effect caused by a discharge created by the Dielectric Barrier Discharge system is monitored, and the generation of high-voltage pulses by the high-voltage pulse generator is controlled. The controlling of the generation of the high-voltage pulses is adapted based on the received sensor data.
METHOD OF DETECTING ENDOTOXIN, ENDOTOXIN DETECTION DEVICE, PURIFIED WATER PRODUCTION FACILITY, INJECTION WATER PRODUCTION FACILITY, METHOD OF PRODUCING PURIFIED WATER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING INJECTION WATER
A method of detecting an endotoxin of detecting an endotoxin from a test subject sample using a fluorescent substance having a structure in which a fluorescent site and a recognition site are connected by a spacer, wherein the recognition site recognizes a specific site of a molecular structure of an endotoxin.
WATER QUALITY MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND WATER QUALITY MEASUREMENT METHOD
A water quality measurement system 10 includes: a first pipe 11 through which a first treated water flows; a first branch pipe 11a branching from the first pipe 11 and having a first valve V11; a second pipe 12 through which a second treated water flows; a second branch pipe 12a branching from the second pipe 12 and having a second valve V12; a third pipe 13 connected to the first pipe 11 and the second pipe 12 and through which the first treated water and the second treated water flow; and a water quality measurement device 14 configured to measure a water quality of a treated water flowing through the third pipe 13.
Prediction-rule generating system, prediction system, prediction-rule generating method, and prediction method
A computer of a prediction-rule generating system includes an input unit configured to input time series data of an abundance proportion of microorganisms or nucleotide sequences included in activated sludge in which a water treatment is performed and water quality information indicating water quality after a water treatment associated with data at each time constituting the time series data, a principal component analyzing unit configured to perform principal component analysis on the input time series data and calculate principal component scores of data at each time constituting time series data, and a prediction rule generating unit configured to generate a prediction rule for predicting water quality after a water treatment from an abundance proportion of microorganisms or nucleotide sequences on the basis of the calculated principal component scores and the input water quality information indicating water quality after a water treatment.
