Wastewater processing

A wastewater collection tank feeds a vaporizing unit through an inlet near the unit's top. A burner produces hot air, which a blower blows through a blower tube that passes through the upper portion of the unit to the bottom portion of the unit. A substrate through which air can pass extends across the unit between the bottom of the blower tube and the wastewater inlet. The hot air moving upward through the unit heats the falling wastewater, a substantial portion of which is vaporized therefrom. The vapor is vented from the top of the unit. Un-vaporized wastewater collects at the bottom of the unit and is recycled through the system with raw wastewater in the collection tank.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MARINE WASTEWATER TREATMENT
20220332614 · 2022-10-20 ·

The invention relates to a system and method for treating wastewater onboard a marine vessel or other limited space application where wastewater treatment is required. In one embodiment of the invention, two polar opposite wastewater treatment processes are incorporated into the same treatment system. The system is a hybrid treatment unit that combines a conventional wastewater treatment using a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) process-based biological treatment unit in combination with a novel electrochemical advanced oxidation process (EAOP) via an in-situ sodium hypochlorite recirculation. The clarified and disinfected effluent from this hybrid treatment unit is filtered to remove residual TSS. The filtered and disinfected effluent is discharged after dechlorination/neutralization. On-site maintenance disinfectant can be produced via the electrochemical/electrochlorination/electro-oxidation process and used for both treatment unit cleaning and disinfection. Additionally, the treatment unit provides a wholly separate stream of electrolysis generated disinfectant for surface disinfection purposes.

The supply container is configured to store one or more materials for a formation of a disinfectant. The disinfectant generator is configured to generate the disinfectant from the one or more materials from the supply container. The power source is configured to provide electrical power to the disinfectant generator. The delivery tube is configured to transport the disinfectant from the disinfectant generator to a biofilm.

A system for transferring marine life within an aquaculture facility including a plurality of segregated storage facilities each containing water for marine life, maintained within a predetermined temperature range and supported at independent ground levels. The storage facilities are successively disposed and structured to contain marine life at different stages of growth. A transfer assembly includes a path of fluid flow interconnecting successive ones of said plurality of storage facilities in fluid communication with one another, wherein at least a majority of a length of said path of fluid flow is disposed beneath the independent ground levels at a predetermined depth, which is sufficient to facilitate maintenance of the path of fluid flow within the predetermined temperature range, via geothermal cooling.

Foldable and intrinsically safe plate capacitive sensors for sensing depth of solids in liquids and sensing depth of two different types of liquids in hazardous locations
11474066 · 2022-10-18 ·

The present invention comprises a novel foldable and intrinsically safe plate capacitive sensor to measure liquid depths, solids in liquid depths, and two different liquids depths. This invention is used in onsite wastewater management systems (OWTS) to monitor depths of solids, oil, and effluent in a wastewater tank. The plates are configured to allow for solids, liquids and gases to surround the plates. A number of plates are hung in series from near the OWTS tank lid to at least 18 inches below the output baffle to measure the different materials at different depths in the OWTS tank. The capacitive sensors are capable of use with various materials to measure solids, oil, and effluent depths in an OWTS tank.

TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRINKING WATER

A water treatment system comprises a flow path through a first activated carbon filter, a second activated carbon filter downstream of the first activated carbon filter, a particulate filter downstream of the second activated carbon filter, for example a ceramic membrane, and a UV sterilizer downstream of the particulate filter. Ozone is introduced into the process water ahead of a water storage vessel for storing treated water produced by the system. A recycle subsystem is periodically operated to withdraw treated water from the water storage vessel to form recycled water, introduce the recycled water to the water lines upstream of the UV sterilizer, and return the recycled water to the water storage vessel. A main programmable logic controller (PLC) controls a flow of the process water through the water treatment system and controls the recycle subsystem.
