System and method for automated control, feed, delivery verification, and inventory management of corrosion and scale treatment products for water systems
A system and method of controlling the treatment of water systems comprises multiple feeders for separately feeding treatment products, in the form of concentrated, non-hazardous, liquids with a single active ingredient, to a water system to treat various issues, such as corrosion and biofilms. A sensor verifies delivery of the treatment product to the water system. A controller controls activation of each feeder to control a feed rate according to programmed functions. The controller receives signals from sensors, which can be used as inputs in calculating feed rates or feeder activation times according to the programed functions and can alter treatment product feed rates based on real time data regarding water system chemistry or flow rates. The controller can send and receive data, signals, alerts, alarms or changes in programming to or from remote users, remote computers, or a water system controller.
REMOVAL AND INHIBITION OF SCALE AND INHIBITION OF CORROSION BY USE OF MOSS
Methods of removing scale and inhibiting scale formation on a surface in an aqueous system are provided that include contacting a surface susceptible to scale formation or having a scale with a solution comprising an amount of a non-decomposed moss effective to remove some or all of the scale or inhibit scale formation on the surface. Methods of inhibiting corrosion on a surface in an aqueous system are provided that include contacting a surface susceptible to corrosion with a solution comprising an amount of a non-decomposed moss effective to inhibit corrosion on the surface.
Composition and method for inhibiting corrosion and scale
A composition and method of inhibiting corrosion, white rust, and scale formation on components in a water system. The composition preferably comprises an amino-acid based polymer (most preferably a polyaspartic acid or a salt thereof), hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid, and a second phosphonic acid (preferably a phosphonocarboxylic acid), and does not require the use of regulated metals. The composition is effective even in the presence of biocides. A preferred method of inhibiting white rust comprises adding an amino-acid based polymer or hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid or both to the water system. A preferred method of inhibiting corrosion, white rust, and scale formation comprises adding an amino-acid based polymer, hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid, and a phosphonocarboxylic acid to the water system. Preferably the active concentrations are at least 3 ppm each of the amino-acid based polymer and hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid when added to a volume of water in the water system.
USE OF DI-IONIC COMPOUNDS AS CORROSION INHIBITORS IN A WATER SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are the methods of using di-cationic or di-anionic compounds, which are derived from primary amine through an aza-Michael addition with an activated olefin, in a corrosion control composition to mitigate corrosion of a surface in a water system. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used single quaternary compounds for mitigating corrosion for a metal surface in water systems.
MICRO-BUBBLE PUMP APPARATUS FOR WATER TREATMENT
The present invention relates to a micro-bubble pump apparatus for a water treatment, and the micro-bubble pump apparatus for a water treatment comprises: a motor for generating rotatory power; and a micro-bubble pump connected to the motor and for mixing a feed liquid which flows into one side thereof and a feed gas which is injected into the other side thereof.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING PROCESS WATER TREATED WITH A BIOCIDE USING AN OXYGEN SENSOR
A system and method for monitoring process water treated with a biocide is provided. The system includes a biocide feeding unit and a dissolved oxygen sensor. The dissolved oxygen sensor works in two modes, a biocide feeding mode and a background mode, and alerts an operator when the dissolved oxygen value indicates a fault in the system. A drop in dissolved oxygen during feeding can indicate faulty production of biocide or biocide degradation, both of which can lead to unwanted disinfection by-products.
MICELLAR DELIVERY METHOD
Provided herein are compositions and methods for treatment of microbially contaminated water and microbially contaminated surfaces. The compositions can include a micellar system comprising an equilibrium peroxycarboxylic acid and a surfactant.
Sediment buster for water container flushing system including sediment separator, and associated methods
A sediment buster is used for water heater draining. The sediment buster includes a main body defining a conduit and configured to be coupled to a drain outlet of a tank of the water heater. The conduit is configured to transport a fluid into the drain outlet to break up sediment accumulated at the drain outlet inside the tank. A first connector at an end of the main body is configured to be coupled to the drain outlet of the tank, and a second connector is at an opposite end of the main body. An inlet valve is positioned on the main body and configured to receive the fluid to be sent into the drain outlet via the conduit and the first connector. A shut-off valve is positioned on the main body between the inlet valve and the second connector to selectively regulate the direction of flow of the fluid within the conduit from the inlet valve. A fluid supply device is coupled to the inlet valve for selectively supplying the fluid to be sent into the drain outlet via the conduit and the first connector.
PROCESS
In a process for treating wastewater from a combined gasification and Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) process, feedstock derived from Municipal Solid Waste or the like is gasified in a reactor (R) and treated in a cleanup unit (C) which generates a first wastewater stream (1st WWT STREAM) containing salts and inorganic pollutants. The first wastewater stream is treated in a treatment unit (T1) to remove inorganic pollutants derived from the syngas. The treatment comprises a) degassing, and subsequently b) neutralising the first wastewater stream before treatment in a Dissolved Air Flotation unit (72c) and filtering in a moving sand bed or similar (72d) to remove solids, and a stripping process to remove ammonia. A second wastewater stream (2.sup.nd WWT Stream) containing organic pollutants but being low in salts arises from the F-T process and is treated separately to allow recycling within the F-T process.
GALVANIZED METAL CORROSION INHIBITOR COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
A method of preventing formation of rust on a metal surface is provided. The method may include applying a polyamine onto the metal surface and applying a compound of formula (I) or salt thereof onto the metal surface. The compositions and methods disclosed herein may be used to inhibit corrosion of a metal surface in contact with an aqueous system.
