Devices for controlling to remove food waste digestion foam are provided. The device includes a digestion tank. The digestion tank includes two hermetically sealed boxes. Each of the two boxes is opened with a liquid inlet connected to an interior of each of the two boxes. A conveying mechanism is connected between the two boxes. The conveying mechanism conveys a gas in the two boxes in a reciprocal manner. The gas in the two boxes is conveyed in the reciprocal manner through the conveying mechanism to generate a pressure difference between the two boxes distributed left and right to remove the foam, which adopts physical defoaming without adding any reagent, is cost-effective and efficient, and does not affect an anaerobic reaction process due to addition of a chemical defoaming agent. The entire device has a simple structure and is easy to operate, and the process is controllable.

Composition and Method for Reducing Odors in Wet Air Scrubbers

A composition and method for reducing odors and cleaning packing media and other components in a wet air scrubber using nonionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, and a source of humic acid. Preferred nonionic surfactants include regular and low foam nonionic surfactants. The source of humic acid is preferably organic peat humus. The treatment composition is added to water in the wet scrubber at a concentration of 50-1000 ppm. The treatment composition is a premixed composition in a single container, making it unnecessary to separately add ingredients to the water. The treatment composition is effective at reducing odors by at least 50% compared to no treatment. The treatment composition is also effective at significantly reducing foam levels, making it unnecessary to add a separate defoamer to the water being treated. The treatment composition does not need to use defoamers, enzymes, oxidizers, chlorine compounds, or strong acids to be effective.

WELL WASTEWATER TREATMENT

A process for continuously treating a stream of water (for example, a stream of oil and gas well wastewater) to remove contaminants therefrom is provided. The process comprises: a) testing the stream of water to determine if it contains biological matter and, if necessary, removing biological matter from the stream; b) testing the pH level of the stream and, if necessary, adjusting the pH level of the stream; c) separating the stream of water into a sludge discharge stream and a separator unit effluent stream; d) separating the separator unit effluent stream into a steam discharge stream and a concentrated brine stream; and e) separating the concentrated brine stream into a chlorine gas stream and at least one of a sodium stream and a calcium stream. A corresponding system is also provided.

Systems and methods for use of water with switchable ionic strength

Methods and systems for use of switchable water, which is capable of reversibly switching between an initial ionic strength and an increased ionic strength, is described. The disclosed methods and systems can be used, for example, in distillation-free removal of water from solvents, solutes, or solutions, desalination, clay settling, viscosity switching, etc. Switching from lower to higher ionic strength is readily achieved using low energy methods such as bubbling with C0.sub.2, CS.sub.2 or COS or treatment with Bronsted acids. Switching from higher to lower ionic strength is readily achieved using low energy methods such as bubbling with air, inert gas, heating, agitating, introducing a vacuum or partial vacuum, or any combination or thereof.
