Scale suppression apparatus, geothermal power generation system using the same, and scale suppression method
A scale suppression apparatus capable of suppressing in a low-priced manner the generation of silica-based scale and calcium-based scale in the influent water, a geothermal power generation system using the same, and a scale suppression method are provided. The apparatus includes a first addition unit configured to add liquid containing a chelating agent and an alkaline agent to influent water flowing through a pipe arrangement to make the influent water higher than pH 7, a second addition unit configured to add an acid substance to the influent water to make the influent water lower than pH 7, and a controller configured to alternatively switch between the operation of the first addition unit and the operation of the second addition unit. The controller controls the switching of the first addition unit and the second addition unit based on the signals output from a scale detection unit and a pH meter.
Fluid treatment apparatus
A fluid treatment apparatus includes a ferrite assembly, a driver, and an oscillator circuit. The ferrite assembly is arranged in use to be capable of surrounding a conduit containing fluid to be acted on. The driver is arranged to generate a pulsed current to which the ferrite assembly is subjected whereby the driver is electromagnetically coupled to the ferrite assembly. The oscillator circuit is electromagnetically coupled to the ferrite assembly, and in response to the pulse generated by the driver, causes an oscillating signal to be generated which gives rise to an electromagnetic field which acts on the fluid in the conduit.
Additives for heat exchanger deposit removal in a wet layup condition
This invention relates to compositions and methods for the at least partial dissolution, disruption and/or removal of deposits, such as scale and other deposits, from heat exchanger components. The heat exchanger components can include pressurized water reactor steam generators. The pressurized water reactor steam generators can be in a wet layup condition. The compositions include elemental metal and complexing agent selected from the group consisting of sequestering agent, chelating agent, dispersant, and mixtures thereof. The methods include introducing the compositions into the heat exchanger components.
NON-SCALING WET AIR OXIDATION SYSTEM AND PROCESS
There is provided a system and a method for regenerating a material that reduce the incidence of scaling due to scale forming contaminants. The method may include reducing a temperature of a treated material exiting a wet air oxidation unit in a scale reducing heat exchanger prior to delivery of the treated material to a second heat exchanger which heats a source waste material comprising a scale forming contaminant therein with heat from the first treated material to form a heated waste material comprising the scale forming contaminant.

Disclosed is a system for preventing scaling and deposit formation in a sterile air heat exchanger of a system for aseptic packaging within laminated carton packages, and a process for eliminating hydrogen peroxide residues in aseptic laminated carton packaging systems, characterized in that it comprises providing a supply of water for scrubbing sterile air that has the following properties: (a) maximum conductivity at 20° C. of 2.0 micromhos; and (b) a maximum silica content of 0.1 ppm.
Apparatus for water treatment using capacitive deionization and method for controlling the same
There are provided an apparatus for water treatment using capacitive deionization and a method for controlling the same. The apparatus for water treatment using capacitive deionization includes a first filter unit and a second filter unit allowing dissolved solids included in an introduced fluid to be adsorbed on electrodes to generate purified water when a water purification voltage is applied to the electrodes, and allowing the dissolved solids adsorbed on the electrodes to be desorbed to generate regenerated water when a regeneration voltage is applied to the electrodes, respectively, and a controller iteratively alternatively applying the water purification voltage and the regeneration voltage to the first filter unit and the second filter unit to generate purified water having a pre-set target total dissolved solids (TDS) value.
Electrochemically regenerated water deionization
An apparatus and method for abating scale formation during the purification and demineralization of water in an electrochemical deionization apparatus. In the apparatus and method, scale forming ions in a raw water feed are precipitated at a controlled location remote from the deionization chambers of the deionization apparatus. Concentrate water produced during the deionization process to produce demineralized product water is acidified and circulated through the deionization apparatus to prevent scale formation and build-up in the deionization apparatus.
System for injecting an aqueous solution into an injection engine
A system for injecting an aqueous solution into an injection engine, includes: a tank for an aqueous solution, a circuit for supplying aqueous solution to the tank and a filter for filtering the aqueous solution, and a circuit for recirculating the aqueous solution. The injection system also includes recirculation of the aqueous solution, and is provided with an electrovalve including a first inlet connected to a filler neck of the tank, a second inlet connected to the recirculation circuit, and an outlet connected to the supply circuit. The filtration filter is arranged in the supply circuit and/or in the recirculation circuit.
Optimised hydrothermal carbonisation method and facility for implementing same
A method and facility for the hydrothermal carbonization of pasty products or waste, or sewage sludge, in a pressurized reactor heated to carbonization temperature T0. Before entering the reactor, the products undergo: pressurization, and preheating in an exchanger, by a thermal fluid flowing in a closed loop, and receiving heat from products exiting the reactor; the thermal fluid is heated in the loop by an external heat source, downstream from the exchange with the products exiting the reactor, and upstream from the preheating of the products entering the reactor, and the temperature of the product to be treated, preheated by the thermal fluid, when it enters the reactor, is between the carbonization temperature T0 and T0-100° C. The product to be treated flows in at least one tube, where in at least one location therein, liquid is injected to create a liquid ring against the inner wall, and reduce pressure drops.
Water treatment device
Provided is a water treatment device that suppresses the degradation of electrodes in a capacitive de-ionization treatment section and is capable of maintaining high water treatment capability. The water treatment device includes an activated carbon treatment section that receives an inflow of water having a total organic carbon concentration of 100 mg/l or less and adsorbs and removes organic matters contained in the water; and, on the downstream side of the activated carbon treatment section, a capacitive de-ionization treatment section including a pair of electrodes to which voltages having polarities opposite to each other are applied, a flow path, and ion exchange membranes. Ions contained in the water are adsorbed to the electrodes with voltages applied thereto, and voltages reverse to the voltages at the time of ions adsorption are applied to the electrodes to release the ions from the electrodes.
