METHOD FOR DEGRADING PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS
The present invention discloses a method for degrading perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) and belongs to the field of degradation of persistent pollutants. According to the present invention, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), indoleacetic acid (IAA) and PFCs are mixed to form compact self-assembled micelles, and the self-assembled micelles are illuminated, so that PFCs are rapidly degraded and defluorinated in the micelles, thereby realizing the degradation of PFCs by using a novel self-assembled micelle system and improving the degradation efficiency of PFCs.
Demulsification compound for oil separation from waste streams
A method for producing an additive for reclaiming oil from a fluid product stream and a treated silica with controlled hydrophobicity are disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing silica or silicate with a particle size of between 3.0 m to 20 m, the silica or silicates having an agglomerate size of between 10 m to 100 m and being chosen to achieve the desired particle-size range and with a controlled level of hydrophobicity; treating the silica or silicate with a silicone or silane to make it hydrophobic; and controlling the hydrophobicity of the silica or silicate by varying the temperature and treatment time of the silica or silicate, amount of a treating material used to treat the silica or silicate, and the molecular weight of the treating material. The additive improves oil extraction and concentration from a fluid product stream.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USING SAME FOR REMEDIATING LOW TO MODERATE AMOUNTS OF SULFUR-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS IN LIQUIDS
A treatment composition for remediating for remediating H.sub.2S and other contaminant(s) in contaminated liquids, comprising: 0.1-10.0 weight % collectively of at least one hydroxide compound; 0.01-3.0 weight % collectively of at least one organic acid selected from a group consisting of fulvic acid and humic acid; 0.01-10.0 wt % of a chelating agent; and at least 75% weight of water.
Liquid Bio-Catalytic Composition
The present invention provides a process for the treatment of sewage sludge with enzymes, which process comprises treating a sewage sludge resulting from the treatment of municipal or industrial waste water with a composition comprising a fermentation supernatant product from a Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture and a non-ionic surfactant, wherein said fermentation supernatant product is free of active enzymes, at conditions suitable for generating said active enzymes from said sewage sludge in situ.
CHEMICAL PRODUCTS FOR SURFACE PROTECTION
Some implementations of the present disclosure prevent, reduce or at least slow equipment fouling using passivation as a treatment prior to contacting metallic components with hydrocarbon containing fluid, that is, an environment where fouling occurs. For example, one implementation includes a method of passivating heat exchangers in a SAGD process or system using the compositions and compounds of the present disclosure. The composition may be applied to a component prior to its first inclusion in an online system or following placing the system offline for maintenance. The composition may be used to treat metallic equipment surface(s), for example, via contacting them with a suspension or solution of the composition described herein, prior placing the system online. The method may further include treatment of the process fluid, for example, via injection or batch treatment of the composition with the compositions described herein into the process fluid.
ACTIVATED FERRATE COMPOSITIONS
Aqueous activated ferrate solutions, methods of their preparation, and methods of disinfecting organisms and oxidizing pollutants in water are provided.
Method for permeate flow path sanitization in a reverse osmosis system
The disclosure pertains to sanitizing the permeate flow path of a reverse osmosis system. A method of sanitizing a filtration system is disclosed that can include injecting a biocide into a permeate compartment of an operating reverse osmosis system. The method can also include maintaining pressure in a concentrate compartment of the reverse osmosis system simultaneously while injecting the biocide.
Compositions and methods for cleaning contaminated solids and liquids
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for the remediation of contaminated solids and liquids. In particular, embodiments of the present invention relate to the bioremediation of solids and liquids by a composition comprising a biocatalyst or mixture of biocatalysts. The present invention also relates to methods for producing the bioremediation compositions and methods for applying the bioremediation compositions to contaminated sites, including treatment, storage, and disposal facilities, as well as various contaminated water sources, such as aquifers and reservoirs.
Dewatering Method And System
The present invention relates to methods for dewatering tailings and systems for performing same. In certain aspects, the invention relates to methods of producing a dewatered tailings residue or a stackable tailings residue, comprising subjecting tailings to hydrocyclonic separation to produce one or more partially dewatered underflows and a final water-rich overflow; separating the final water-rich overflow, by centrifuging, into a recovered water stream and a low-water residue; and mixing together the low-water residue and at least part of the one or more partially dewatered underflows to produce a dewatered tailings residue or a stackable tailings residue.
Method of enhanced treatment of a spilled oil on an oil-spilled contaminated area
The present invention provides a method of enhanced treatment of spilled oil on water, land, and biological organism, which is able to clean the spilled oil efficiently, environmental-friendly and in a short time. The method comprises: contacting an oil spill area shrinking agent with spilled oil on an oil-spilled contaminated region or objects; wherein the oil spill area shrinking agent comprises a sulfosuccinate and a stabilizer without oil dissolving organic solvent, oil emulsifier, and organic fluorine or silicone surfactant. The method according to the present invention can be used to clean the land and water polluted by an oil spill and remove the oil spill from polluted biological organisms. It can also be used to recover spilled oil as resource and to reduce resulted environmental pollution.
