GRAPHENE MODIFIED WITH LINEAR ALKYLAMINES FOR OIL REMOVAL FROM PRODUCED WATER
Provided is a composition that may include an alkylamine modified graphene having a formula R[—CH.sub.2-alkylamine)].sub.x, where R is a graphene core, [—CH.sub.2-alkylamine)] is an alkylamine functional group, and x is a non-zero integer. The alkylamine functional group may include [—CH.sub.2-n-propylamine)], [—CH.sub.2-n-hexylamine)], or [—CH.sub.2-n-dodecylamine)]. Trace amounts of an oxygen and nitrogen functional group may be coupled to the graphene core. Further provided is a method that may include introducing alkylamine modified graphene into a hydrocarbon-contaminated water. The method may further include separating a hydrocarbon-absorbed alkylamine modified graphene from the recovered water. Further provided is a system that may include a holding tank, a pump, a membrane housing, and a collection tank. The membrane housing may include membranes and a filtration media.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING IRRIGATION WATER HAVING IMPROVED OXYGEN CONTENT
A method and system providing irrigation water having improved oxygen content are provided. The method may include the steps of: withdrawing water from the water body; infusing a gas containing oxygen and/or ozone into the withdrawn water by generating nanobubbles of the gas within the water; and communicating the infused water to an irrigation pump that is configured to motivate water from the water body to an irrigation destination. The system may include a nanobubble generator that may be configured to receive water that is withdrawn from a water body. An oxygen concentrator and/or an air compressor may be configured to provide a gas containing oxygen and/or ozone to the nanobubble generator which is configured to disperse nanobubbles of the gas into the water. A conduit may communicate the infused water to an irrigation pump that is configured to motivate water from the water body to an irrigation destination.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for preparing dialyzate, wherein the apparatus has a first part and a second part that is configured as a circuit; wherein the first part comprises a water connection or a water container as well as the primary side of a filter; wherein the filter is configured to prepare purified water from the water through forward osmosis; and wherein the second part comprises the secondary side of the filter, a reservoir, a filtrate line that leads from the secondary side of the filter to the reservoir, and a line leading from the reservoir to the secondary side of the filter, with the reservoir being a container having means for connecting the container to a dialysis machine.

Exemplary embodiments of the present invention can include a method for isolating a contaminate from water comprising: introducing a plurality of aluminum-doped nanoparticles to water, the water comprising the contaminate; contacting the plurality of aluminum-doped nanoparticles with the contaminate to form contaminate-adsorbed nanoparticles; and isolating the contaminate-adsorbed nanoparticles by applying a magnetic field to the water.

Enhanced emulsion liquid membranes for extraction of pollutants from water
Described herein are novel emulsion liquid membranes useful for extracting pollutants from industrial wastewater and water. The emulsion liquid membranes include, in various phases, at least one of nanoparticles, an ionic liquid, and combinations of nanoparticles and ionic liquids. Use of the present emulsion liquid membranes enhances the separation and the stability of the ELM method for pollutant extraction and recovery from wastewater and water.
Lanthanum-iron-loaded carbon nanotube film for environmental restoration, preparation and application thereof
A preparation method of a lanthanum-iron-loaded carbon nanotube film for environmental restoration is provided, it belongs to the technical field of composite materials. The preparation method includes: mixing carbon nanotubes with a lanthanum-iron mixed solution to obtain a suspension, then obtaining a first reaction solution by a constant temperature oscillation reaction; adding alkali liquor into the first reaction solution to obtain a second reaction solution by an oscillation reaction; carrying out a solid-liquid separation on the second reaction solution, adding the obtained solid after drying into an organic solution, and obtaining a third reaction solution by ultrasonic mixing; centrifuging the third reaction solution to obtain a supernatant; obtaining a lanthanum-iron-loaded carbon nanotube film by suction filtration. Compared with powdered adsorbent and single adsorbent, the material prepared by the preparation method has advantages of strong stability, high adsorption efficiency, good regeneration effect, high recycling efficiency, and low production.
Photocatalyst comprising bimetallic nanoparticles and graphene oxide for denitrification reaction, and water treatment method using same
Proposed are a photocatalyst, including titanium dioxide particles including titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2), a carbon material located on all or part of the surface of the titanium dioxide particles and including at least one selected from the group consisting of graphene, reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and bimetallic nanoparticles supported on the carbon material and including first metal nanoparticles and second metal nanoparticles, and a water treatment method using the same. In the photocatalyst and the water treatment method using the same, the photocatalyst including bimetallic nanoparticles and graphene oxide is prepared, thereby exhibiting high reduction efficiency and high selectivity to nitrogen gas even without the use of an external electron donor.
METHOD FOR MAKING A POLYURETHANE COMPOSITE MATERIAL
A composite material of polyurethane foam having a layer of reduced graphene oxide and polystyrene is described. This composite material may be made by contacting a polyurethane foam with a suspension of reduced graphene oxide, drying, and then irradiating in the presence of styrene vapor. The composite material has a hydrophobic surface that may be exploited for separating a nonpolar phase, such as oil, from an aqueous solution.
