Systems, devices, and methods of water filtration

Systems, devices, and methods of filtering water include a dome shaped lid and middle disk to separate filtration media materials. The domed shaped lid eliminates air locks in the filter media that can slow or stop the filtration process. A flow control output port regulates the flow level and flow speed of the filtered water. An angled flow output port improves flow by accelerating flow at an angled bottom section of the filter. Water permeable filter bag materials house the filter media. An additional washing process improves the taste of the filtered water. A color change resin in the mixed bed resin indicates expiration of the filter. Similarly, a filter expiration indicator assists users in determining when a filter should be replaced. An integrated TDS meter is used for testing the filtered water. The devices can be used individually or in combination to provide performance improvements.

WATER CONTAINER WITH FLOATABLE FILTER SYSTEM
20190300385 · 2019-10-03 ·

A portable drinking water filter system, such as a pitcher, having a sleeve and a floatable body including a filter opening configured to receive a water filter, the floatable body having a seal extending outward from an outer surface of the floatable body. The floatable body is disposed in a sleeve cavity such that a body seal engages the sidewall and restricts water from passing between the floatable body and the sidewall. The seal is configured to create friction with the sidewall, wherein the friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is different than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve. The friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is greater than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve, allowing the floatable body to auto-retract toward a cavity base without burping.

Water purification filter and system

In one example, a filter cartridge includes a housing having a fluid entry port and a fluid exit port, and the housing has a chamber in fluid communication with the fluid entry port and the fluid exit port. A first medium is disposed within the chamber and includes a material that serves to change the pH of a fluid passing through the first medium. A filtration medium is disposed in the chamber downstream of the first medium and arranged to receive effluent of the first medium. The filtration medium includes a material configured to remove a metal from a fluid passing through the filtration medium.

BEVERAGE CONTAINER

A beverage container comprising an outer enclosure made of glass or metal and a hopper part made of glass or metal that is arranged within the outer enclosure. The hopper part defines an upstream volume for untreated beverage and is adapted for holding a capsule for liquid treatment media downstream the upstream volume. The beverage container comprises a hopper holder that is configured to hold the hopper part in the outer enclosure, the hopper holder comprising a hopper holder gasket that is configured to provide a friction fit between the outer enclosure and the hopper part.

FILTERED PITCHER AND DRINKING VESSEL
20190292069 · 2019-09-26 ·

A vessel that has a pre-filtered liquid area, a compressible portion, and filter material. The pre-filtered liquid area is configured to receive an unfiltered liquid. The compressible portion defines at least in part a filtered liquid storage area. The compressible portion is configured to be compressed into a compressed state and to return to an uncompressed state when no longer compressed. The filter material is positioned between the pre-filtered liquid area and the filtered liquid storage area. The unfiltered liquid is sucked from the pre-filtered liquid area through the filter material and into the filtered liquid storage area when the compressible portion returns to the uncompressed state. The filter material filters the unfiltered liquid, as the unfiltered liquid is sucked through the filter material, to produce a processed liquid that includes filtered liquid and/or purified liquid.

GRAVITY FILTER

Embodiments of a gravity filter for potable water comprise a loose filter bed comprising ion exchange resin particles and activated carbon particles, and a porous non-woven filter substrate disposed downstream of the loose filter bed, wherein the porous non-woven filter substrate comprises an impregnated heavy metal scavenger.

Ultraviolet Irradiation of Fluids

Ultraviolet irradiation of liquids for purposes of sterilization, disinfection, cleaning and/or treatment. A liquid collection reservoir can receive an inflow of a liquid. A filtering unit can filter the inflow of liquid received by the liquid collection reservoir. A liquid chamber stores the liquid. Ultraviolet light emitting sources located about the liquid chamber irradiate the liquid in the liquid chamber with ultraviolet light. A control unit, operatively coupled to the ultraviolet light emitting sources, controls the irradiation of the liquid in the liquid chamber with the ultraviolet light emitting sources. The control unit is configured to control an intensity and a duration of the irradiation as a function of time that the liquid is stored in the liquid chamber and the amount of the liquid that is in the liquid chamber.

PITCHERS, FILTRATION UNITS, AND FILTRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

The present invention relates generally to fluid filtration, such as, for example, filtration systems and methods, filtration units, pitchers, and combinations thereof.

FILTRATION DEVICE AND WATER FILTRATION PITCHER COMPRISING THE SAME
20240157275 · 2024-05-16 ·

The present invention relates to a filtration device adapted for removably installing to a container, comprising a first housing portion, a second housing portion coupled to the first housing portion, and a filter element assembly constructed as a replaceable cartridge. The filter element assembly comprising an enclosure defining a compartment therein, a first filter media situated upstream the compartment, and a second filter media disposed within the compartment. The enclosure is formed from a fluid permeable material and is structurally supported by a support member situated within the compartment and upstream the second filter media, the support member is provided with a deflector, such that at least a portion of fluid that has passed through the first filter media is directed away from a circumferential side of the enclosure before entering the second filter media. The present invention also discloses a water filtration pitcher comprising the filtration device.

Barrier with superhydrophobic coating
