A remotely activated door-opening mechanism is provided for a cage trap having an animal enclosure, preferably a cage trap as disclosed in U.S. Publ. No. US2008/0115405. The mechanism is mounted outside the enclosure of the trap and is preferably remotely activated by an IR or RF transmitter to open a door of the trap and release a trapped animal when the operator is at a safe distance away. The mechanism may also be manually set with a time delay and may be associated with either a main entry door to the trap or with a secondary escape door located at an opposite end of the trap.

A rodent trap and a method of managing rodent control using a rodent trap are disclosed. The rodent trap includes a housing including a kill compartment that houses at least one electric shocking device for shocking a rodent, an entrance tunnel at a first end of the kill compartment, and a door at a second end of the kill compartment. The entrance tunnel is of a length and shape so as to prevent an operative from accidentally inserting a hand into the kill compartment. The entrance tunnel includes a sensor. The trap further includes a power source, an interface, and a printed circuit board for determining that the shocking device has triggered, that the rodent has not departed from the housing within a defined time period, and that facilitates communication sending a signal remotely.

A rat catching box includes a box body, a lifting platform, and a control assembly. The box body is provided with a trap opening and a recovery opening. The lifting platform is disposed at the bottom of the box body, and a rat catching platform parallel to the lifting platform is disposed above the lifting platform. The control assembly is disposed on the box body, and includes a voltage measurement module, a controller, a high-voltage transformer, and a power grid. The voltage measurement module transmits a triggering signal of the power grid to the controller, and the controller controls the high-voltage transformer to supply power to the power grid. The power grid includes a positive power grid line and a negative power grid line. The negative power grid line in disconnection is divided into three segments connected respectively to a negative electrode of the high-voltage transformer.

A rat catching box includes a box body, a lifting platform, and a control assembly. The box body is provided with a trap opening and a recovery opening. The lifting platform is disposed at the bottom of the box body, and a rat catching platform parallel to the lifting platform is disposed above the lifting platform. The control assembly is disposed on the box body, and includes a voltage measurement module, a controller, a high-voltage transformer, and a power grid. The voltage measurement module transmits a triggering signal of the power grid to the controller, and the controller controls the high-voltage transformer to supply power to the power grid. The power grid includes a positive power grid line and a negative power grid line. The negative power grid line in disconnection is divided into three segments connected respectively to a negative electrode of the high-voltage transformer.

Inside the mesh enclosure and surrounding the opening is a tunnel that prevents the iguana from clawing the door open from inside the trap. Optionally, a partition divides an upper chamber from the lower chamber. A passage passes through the partition and has a guide above the partition that surrounds the passage to discourage an iguana from moving from the upper chamber to the lower. Optionally, a bait-box is provided with a door to refill the bait-box accessible from outside the enclosure.

A bait container that is attached to inside of a trap, the bait container having a sidewall that forms an enclosure along with a cover that may open and close, a first connector that connects the cover to a door on the trap and a second connector that has some elasticity and that connects the cover to a lower or bottom portion of the container or the trap, the second connector securing the cover in a closed position when the trap door is closed and the first connector opening the cover when the trap is open such that the cover to the bait container is opened or closed as a user opens and closes the door to the trap.
