A face protector for reducing the transmission of pathogens (including but not limited to viruses such as COVID-19) between individuals, along with methods of making and using the same, are generally provided herein. More specifically embodiments of face protectors that are configured to be supported by the bill of a hat, visor, or other headgear are disclosed, wherein the face protector provides a physical barrier separating the wearer's face from the environment. Embodiments include side panels to provide additional protection and/or wings to provide additional support. Fasteners may be used with embodiments to secure the face protector to the brim or headgear. Radiation (such as ultraviolet light) may be used to sanitize air as it moves past the edge of the face protector. An embodiment includes a projection configured to cover the bill of the headgear.

One or more embodiments of a device including a head piece, a head covering, a visor, and a veil are disclosed. The head piece is sized and arranged to sit on a head of a wearer when the device is worn on the head of the wearer. The head covering is connected to the head piece and is connected over the head piece and is configured to rotate relative to the head piece. The visor is connected to the head covering, the visor being at least partially transparent. The veil connects to the visor, the veil including a protective material.

The headgear includes a head piece with a front opening and a bottom opening fringed with a first strap. Two flat ear pieces are provided respectively and oppositely on two lateral sides of the head piece, each having an outward extended hook element. An eye piece and a mouth piece respectively seal an upper portion and a lower portion of the front opening. An upper rim of the mouth piece is joined to a lower rim of the eye piece. Two second straps run around the head piece, where two ends of an upper one and a lower one respectively join the four corners of the mouth piece. A sound amplifier is fixed to the mouth piece to facilitate wearer's verbal communication. The head piece may be made of PE for reducing cost and discomfort. An addition mask may be fastened to the ear pieces to enhance protection.

A protective shield is provided for use with headwear having a brim and wearable by a user. The protective shield includes an elongate suspension strap portion and a pair of attachment tabs engageable with the headwear and positioned such that the elongate suspension strap portion extends between the pair of attachment tabs. A protective portion is connected to the suspension strap portion and is configured to extend over the user's eyes, nose, and mouth when the protective shield is attached to the headwear. The suspension strap portion and the protective portion collectively define a slot sized to receive the brim of the headwear to facilitate engagement between the protective shield and the headwear.

A protective shield for use with headgear includes a unitary panel having a protective portion including opposing first and surfaces The unitary panel additionally includes at least one lateral tab connectable to the headgear. The protective portion is sized to extend over the face of a user when the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear and the headgear is worn on the user's head. The unitary panel is selectively connectable to the headgear in at least one of a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear such that the first surface assumes a convex configuration and faces away from the user. In the second configuration, the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear such that the first surface assumes a concave configuration and faces toward from the user.

A shield attachment can include a brim slot and a face shield. The brim slot may be configured to receive the brim to secure the face shield attachment to the headwear. The face shield may be positioned below the brim slot, and the face shield can be configured to extend around a face of the user while the headwear is worn.

A protective shield is provided for use with headwear having a brim and wearable by a user. The protective shield includes an elongate suspension strap portion and a pair of attachment tabs engageable with the headwear and positioned such that the elongate suspension strap portion extends between the pair of attachment tabs. A protective portion is connected to the suspension strap portion and is configured to extend over the user's eyes, nose, and mouth when the protective shield is attached to the headwear. The suspension strap portion and the protective portion collectively define a slot sized to receive the brim of the headwear to facilitate engagement between the protective shield and the headwear.

A cap shield includes two or more side attachment assemblies; the two or more side attachment assemblies including corresponding two or more top portions and two or more clip assemblies, the two or more clip assemblies directed downward in a vertical direction which is perpendicular to the top portion, the two or more side attached assemblies to attach to a bill of a cap. The cap shield further includes a shield attachment assembly, the shield attachment assembly include two or more side portions having associated two or more recesses to receive the two or more clip assemblies to connect the two or more side attachment assemblies to the shield attachment assembly; and a shield or lens, the shield or lens to be attached to the shield attachment assembly.

In one aspect, a headgear shield is disclosed, which includes a clip for removable and replaceable coupling to a headgear, and a face shield configured for coupling to said clip for at least partially providing a barrier between a face of an individual wearing the headgear and an ambient environment.
