10508051 · 2019-12-17 · ·

There are provided a lens forming mold, and a manufacturing method for a cylindrical lens, with which cylindrical lenses having good mass productivity can be manufactured. A lens forming mold for forming a molding on which a plurality of cylindrical surfaces are arranged in parallel includes: a first mold including a plurality of cylindrical surface forming portions that are arranged in parallel at equal intervals; and a first flat surface forming portion that is provided between adjacent cylindrical surface forming portions; and a second mold that sandwiches the glass material and faces the first mold when the molding is molded, in which the second mold includes a second flat surface forming portion that faces the plurality of cylindrical surface forming portions and the first flat surface forming portion.

IONICALLY CONDUCTIVE GLASS PREFORM

An ionically conductive glass (or glassy) monolithic preform having a certain shape, size, and dimension may be made from a monolithic precursor material (e.g., an ingot or boule of ion conductive glass), generally of a different shape and size.

HIGHLY HOMOGENEOUS GLASS SPUTTER TARGETS WITH LARGE ASPECT RATIO AND HIGH RELATIVE DENSITY FOR PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION

The current disclosure relates to highly homogeneous glass sputter targets with a large aspect ratio and a high relative density. The glass sputter targets have properties that are desirable for forming thin films by physical vapor deposition processes such as sputtering.

Method for manufacturing formed glass and heating apparatus

A method for manufacturing a formed glass includes using a heating apparatus. The heating apparatus includes a heating element and a heat reservoir having a transmittance of 50% or more in a wavelength of 0.5 m to 2.5 m. The heat reservoir is arranged between the heating element and a glass substrate as an object to be heated. The glass substrate is heated with the heating element, and the glass substrate is formed into a desired shape.

In a multi-panel display device in which plural individual display devices are joined, it is possible to guarantee image continuity in panel junction areas of the multi-panel display device by disposing a frame-type optical member, which includes a frame section having plural optical fibers and a central light-transmitting area, on the front surface of the multi-panel display device and optimizing structures of an inner inclined surface of the frame section of the frame-type optical member and optical fibers included in the frame section.

METHOD FOR LOCALLY DEFORMING A FLAT SURFACE OF A SUBSTRATE MADE OF GLASS OR A GLASS CERAMIC, AND AN OPERATING ELEMENT PRODUCED WITH SAID METHOD

The invention relates to a method for locally deforming a flat surface of a substrate made of glass or a glass-ceramic, and to an operating element that can be produced with the method. The method is characterised by the following method steps: applying heat exclusively within a locally limited region via the surface of the substrate by means of laser radiation, gas flame, infrared radiation, electrical microwaves or plasma discharge directed towards the surface of the substrate, in such a way that the substrate is softened at least on the surface within the locally limited region; applying a force acting on the softened surface within the locally limited region, such that the softened surface of the substrate is deformed within the region; and cooling the substrate to obtain a surface that is deformed and set within the local region.
