A sun protective headwear system is provided. The sun protective headwear system may include a headwear having a body and brim portion with a novel sun protective inner lining. The inner lining may incorporate recycled water bottles to achieve advantageous sun protective properties. A closure mechanism may be provided along a rear body portion, near a tensive brim seam joining the brim portion to the body portion, so that in a closed condition the closure mechanism maintains the shape of the headwear while adjusting its fitting so as to be suitable across a wide range of head sizes. The sun protective headwear system may also include a packable pouch dimensioned and adapted to be crushably folded when the packable pouch houses the headwear.

In the second orientation, the device is placed under the underside of a hat and supports the hat in an upright position. The device may be placed under a hat for protection and/or to store the hat in an upright position for display and to reduce the sagging of the hat over time. Further, the device may be placed under a hat and the hat worn. The device has a plurality of radially extending arms extending from a center portion. The perimeter surface of the device may be partially inserted within a groove of the hat so as to allow the device to remain secured within the hat. The device is also suitable for providing some protection against head injury when the device is properly worn under a hat.

Disclosed herein is an apparatus and method of use for a hat or head covering. More specifically, the present invention generally relates to an apparatus and method of use for a hat or head covering, which utilizes a material that reflects radiant heat to offer sun protection to a wearer of the apparatus. In one embodiment the apparatus is comprised of a main body component having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat. In another embodiment, the main body component is comprised of three layers: an outer layer, a middle layer made of a material that reflects radiant heat, and an inner layer. In embodiments, the apparatus is further comprised of a visor component also having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat. In yet other embodiments, the apparatus is further comprised of a brim component also having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat.

The material is configured to retain the U-shape following hardening of the material.
