HOISTWAY MECHANICS OF PANORAMIC VACUUM ELEVATOR
The present approaches are in the in the field of vacuum (or pneumatic) elevators, where the elevator cabin is brought into motion in a vertically situated or vertically inclined and hermetically sealed elevator shaft by means of aerial pressure differential above and below the elevator cabin. Such approaches do not require having any ropes, pulleys, chains, gears, or hydraulics that are traditionally used in conventional elevator systems. More specifically, the present approaches are in the field of panoramic vacuum elevators, where the elevator hoistway is built of panoramic glass panels running from floor to ceiling of every floor and the elevator cabin is built of panoramic glass panels running from floor to the ceiling of the cabin, and that this type of elevator does not incorporate any metal constructive structures—frames, mesh, guides or rails that are traditionally used in every conventional elevator product.

Glass substrate and method for manufacturing the same
A glass substrate and a method for manufacturing the glass substrate are provided. The glass substrate may include a base glass including SiO.sub.2, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, and Li.sub.2O, and nanocrystals having an average diameter in a range from about 5 nm to about 10 nm, thereby exhibiting enhanced surface strength properties while maintaining good transmittance properties. The method may include a step of heat-treating a base glass, thereby providing a glass substrate having enhanced strength properties.

Method to prepare three-dimensional transparent glass via polymer plasticity
The present disclosure provides a method to fabricate three-dimensional transparent glass utilizing polymer plasticity, including the following steps. In step 1, synthesize polymer-glass powder composite containing dynamic chemical bonds, the bond exchange catalyst is added during the synthesis process, and then cure to obtain a two-dimensional sheet shape I, the bond exchange catalyst is used to activate a dynamic chemical bond in step 2. In step 2, shape the two-dimensional sheet shape I obtained in step 1 into a complex three-dimensional shape II under the conditions of the effect of an external force and the activable dynamic chemical bond. In step 3, pyrolyze the composite precursor at high temperature to obtain transparent glass with complex three-dimensional shape II. The present disclosure provides a method in shaping the transparent glass with complex geometries by unique polymer plasticity in lower temperature.

Toughened carbon-containing glass materials
In some implementations, a carbon-containing glass material includes a surface-to-air interface and an interphase region extending from the surface-to-air interface along a direction to a depth within the carbon-containing glass material. The surface-to-air interface may be exposed to ambient air, and the interphase region may include a plurality of few layer graphene (FLG) nanoplatelets formed in response to recombination and/or self-nucleation of a plurality of carbon-containing radicals implanted within the interphase region. The FLG nanoplatelets have a non-periodic orientation configured to at least partially inhibit formation or propagation of microcracks and/or micro-voids in the carbon-containing glass material. The glass material may also include a compressive stress layer disposed between the interphase region and the surface-to-air interface of the carbon-containing glass material, the compressive stress layer induced by ion bombardment of the carbon-containing glass material by a plurality of ionized inert gas particles.

ELECTRONIC COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
An electronic component that has fewer cracks during production is provided. The electronic component includes an outer electrode on a multilayer body, which includes an inner glass layer, a magnetic material layer on top and bottom surfaces of the inner glass layer, and an outer glass layer on top and bottom surfaces of the magnetic material layer. The insulating layers of the inner glass layer and the outer glass layers contain a dielectric glass material that contains a glass material containing at least K, B, and Si, quartz, and alumina. The glass material content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 60%-65% by weight, the quartz content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 34%-37% by weight, and the alumina content of each insulating layer of the inner glass layer ranges from approximately 0.5%-4% by weight.
