A ballistic garment includes a fabric hat and an insert received within an interior of the fabric hat. The insert includes a plurality of flexible ballistic sheets mounted together to collectively form the insert. The insert further includes a rear bottom edge. The insert is configured such that the rear bottom edge of the insert extends to an occipital ridge of a wearer when the insert is on the wearer.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention contemplates a baseball cap-type hat having a head covering portion as well as a forward facing bill. A sweat or liquid absorbing element preferably a terry cloth towel is removably attached to the bill or permanently affixed using hook and pile fastening means. In a preferred embodiment, the hook and pile fastening means half attached to the bill includes an opening to provide a storage compartment in which a key, coin, or other small object may be stored. If desired, the towel may be permanently stitched to the underside of the bill of the cap. In a further alternative, the towel may be made of a hyper-evaporative material.

An apparel article and patch combination, wherein an apparel article (such as a hat/cap) includes a substantially fabric area configured to fit about a user and is provided with a first discrete area of hook material located on a portion of the fabric portion. At least two patches are provided whereby each of the patches have a first surface bearing visual indicia and a second surface covered with loop material. Each of the patches is connectable to the first discrete area of hook material of the apparel article wherein the at least two patches are configured to interlock with one another when connected to the first discrete area of hook material of the apparel article.

An apparel article and patch combination, wherein an apparel article (such as a hat/cap) includes a substantially fabric area configured to fit about a user and is provided with a first discrete area of hook material located on a portion of the fabric portion. At least two patches are provided whereby each of the patches have a first surface bearing visual indicia and a second surface covered with loop material. Each of the patches is connectable to the first discrete area of hook material of the apparel article wherein the at least two patches are configured to interlock with one another when connected to the first discrete area of hook material of the apparel article.

A ball cap is provided that has a crown that has a highest crown point located in a vertical direction and a lowest crown point located in the vertical direction. A brim extends forward of the crown in a longitudinal direction of the ball cap, and the brim extends in the vertical direction to a highest brim point. The highest brim point is closer to the highest crown point in the vertical direction than to the lowest crown point in the vertical direction. In other versions of the ball cap, a crown is provided in the ball cap and in yet further versions portions of the crown can be covered by the brim.

A ball cap is provided that has a crown that has a highest crown point located in a vertical direction and a lowest crown point located in the vertical direction. A brim extends forward of the crown in a longitudinal direction of the ball cap, and the brim extends in the vertical direction to a highest brim point. In other versions of the ball cap, a crown is provided in the ball cap and in yet further versions portions of the crown can be covered by the brim.

Systems are provided for headwear including a first pocket positioned on a first side of the headwear and a second pocket positioned on a second side of the headwear, where the second side is opposite the first side. The headwear further includes a set of capes including a first cape housed in and deployable from the first pocket and a second cape housed in and deployable from the second pocket.

A piece of headgear or hat is capable of holding and storing an audio device and an earphone or headphone assembly either while the headgear or hat is in use or while it is stored. The headgear or hat has a pocket accessible from an exterior to accept and store the audio device and allow a user to manipulate and use the audio device without removing the headgear or hat. The headgear or hat also has a plurality of apertures so that the common wire set of the earphones or headphones can be threaded and contained therein. The earphone or headphone assembly and the audio device are removable from the headgear or hat for repair, replacement or cleaning.

Combination knitted hat and earphone assembly includes knitted hat including double-knitted bucket portion of elastic fabric defining therein head-receiving space for putting onto the user's head, brim portion extended from the bucket portion around the head-receiving space of the knitted hat and two storage pockets disposed inside the double-knitted bucket portion and respectively defined therein storage chamber and opening, and earphone set including two earphone speakers respectively inserted through the openings into the storage chambers of the storage pockets and two transmission wires extended from the earphone speakers and terminating in respective electrical signal input end for connection to control device that is mounted in the folded brim portion outside the double-knitted bucket portion, or external mobile electronic device being carried by the user. Thus, the user can use the earphone set to listen to music when the knitted hat is put on the head to keep the head warm.
