A ball cap is provided that has a crown that has a highest crown point located in a vertical direction and a lowest crown point located in the vertical direction. A brim extends forward of the crown in a longitudinal direction of the ball cap, and the brim extends in the vertical direction to a highest brim point. The highest brim point is closer to the highest crown point in the vertical direction than to the lowest crown point in the vertical direction. In other versions of the ball cap, a crown is provided in the ball cap and in yet further versions portions of the crown can be covered by the brim.

Headwear includes a storage region formed in a headwear portion with the storage region having an opening. An accessory is configured to cover a portion of a wearer's face and includes first and second opposing ends. The first end of the accessory is manually removable from the storage region through the opening. A retainer is attached to the second end of the accessory for limiting movement of the accessory within the storage region. The retainer locks the second end of the accessory within the storage region.

A head cooling hat assembly for cooling a user's head includes a hat that is wearable on a user's head and the hat has a chamber integrated therein. A cooling pack is insertable into the chamber in the hat. Thus, the cooling pack is in thermal communication with the user's head when the user wears the hat. The cooling pack is comprised of a freezable material to cool the user's head when the user wears the hat.

A hat for a person to wear on the golf course and off the golf course is provided. The hat is lightweight and comfortable to wear and yet is also durable to be worn in all weather conditions. The hat includes a crown and a wide brim than extends around the circumference of the crown to protect the wearer from outdoor weather elements such as sun, rain, wind, and snow. The hat also includes a detachable chin strap that can be removed and stored inside an interior pocket of the hat. In one embodiment, the rear region of the crown includes an opening for receiving a portion of the hair, for example, a ponytail, of the person wearing the hat. This opening can be closed by opposing first and second flaps.

A ballistic garment includes a fabric cap and a plurality of flexible ballistic panels. Each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels has a bottom edge and an acutely pointed head that is spaced from the bottom head. The acutely pointed head of each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels is positioned adjacent a top portion of the fabric cap. The bottom edge of each of the plurality of flexible ballistic panels positioned adjacent a bottom portion of the fabric cap.

Items of headwear are disclosed. An item of headwear has a battery, and an information portal. The information portal includes an input device, a human interface device, and a content providing system. The content providing system has non-transitory computer memory with a program with instructions for receiving information from the input device, and relaying the information to the human interface device. The content providing system further includes a processor, an output device, and a networking device.

A protective impact-absorbing headgear liner and impact sensing system for use with various types of helmets and protective gear or clothing. The lining material has unique impact absorbing properties to additionally protect a wearer from impact related injuries. The headgear liner has a band and crown which are variously shaped and positioned to received impact-absorbing pads. The position of the pockets depends on the helmet style. In one example the liner is a stretchable material. Impact absorbing pads as described herein may be used in a variety of clothing and protective gear to protect from impact injury. Examples are football shoulder ads, thigh pads, bicycle helmets and the like. The liner may also be an expanded foam. A preferred pad material is a gel containing a thermoplastic elastomer. The impact sensing system utilizes an impact sensor assembly to sense the force of impact received and transmit the data to a personal electronics device running an application program to process and display sensor data. Other data such as temperature or the like provided by other ancillary sensors may also be processed by the application program.

A standalone hood that can be secured to a person for convenient donning and doffing, through the use of straps and clips.

A baseball cap is provided. The baseball cap has a face cover stored in a pocket in a stowed-away state. The pocket is along with periphery of the baseball cap. In a deployed state, the face cover can be pulled down by a user of the baseball hat to cover his face.

A system for displaying changeable messages in a hat is shown and described. The system may include a hat including a crown and a button affixed to the crown, and a message display removably attachable to the crown. The message display may include comprising a message panel, an attachment element configured to engage the hat by sliding into close fit with the button between the button and the crown, and a post spanning the message panel and the attachment element. The message panel may be perpendicular to the attachment element. The attachment element may include a slot including a closed proximal end proximate the message panel and an open distal end such that the slot surrounds a juncture between the crown and the button when the message display is deployed. The slot may have a relatively wide portion proximate the open distal end and a relatively narrow portion proximate the closed proximal end.
