SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIRECT ELECTROLESS PLATING OF 3D-PRINTABLE GLASS FOR SELECTIVE SURFACE PATTERNING
The present disclosure relates to a method for forming a glass structure having a metallized surface portion. The method may comprise forming a structure using a flowable first material, adapted to form a glass, which includes a metal component. The structure is then treated to remove substantially all solvents and organic components contained in the first flowable material. Finally, the structure is exposed to a bath of a metal salt during which nucleation occurs and a metallized surface coating is formed on at least a portion of an outer surface of the structure.

Overglaze decoration material
An overglaze decoration material is provided that can be used to apply to a ceramic product a luster overglaze in which a luster pigment does not dissolve in glass and can thus maintain its luster properties to provide a metallic texture and high surface gloss. The overglaze decoration material in accordance with the present invention contains a frit that has a composition thereof including 40 wt % to 60 wt % of silicon dioxide, 15 wt % to 35 wt % of boron oxide, and 18 wt % or less of one or more alkali metal oxides selected from the group consisting of lithium oxide, sodium oxide and potassium oxide, and a luster pigment for providing a metallic look.
Low temperature-calcined lead-free glass frit and paste, and vacuum glass assembly using same
The present disclosure relates to a low temperature-calcined lead-free glass frit and paste, and a vacuum glass assembly using the same. The glass frit according to the present disclosure has a novel component system comprising V.sub.2O.sub.5, TeO.sub.2, CuO, BaO, one or more of Ag.sub.2O and Bi.sub.2O.sub.3, ZnO, and one or more of SnO and MoO.sub.3 at a characteristic composition ratio according to the disclosure, whereby the glass frit can replace a lead-based glass composition of the related art, can be calcined at a low temperature of 350° C. or lower and can ensure excellent chemical durability.

Flexible ceramic coatings for metals and methods of making same
Bulk paint and ceramic powder systems, methods of forming same, and methods of forming a flexible ceramic coating on a metal substrate are disclosed. The systems may include a ceramic composition having between 2 to 30 weight percent of an alkali metal oxide, such as K.sub.2O, Na.sub.2O, and Li.sub.2O or mixtures thereof, between 10 to 74 weight percent SiO.sub.2, and between 23 to 79 weight percent B.sub.2O.sub.3. Additives that are nonwetting with molten metals, such as boron nitride, provide durable coatings for metal processing operations. The ceramic composition may include less than 5 weight percent additional metal oxides. The bulk paint system further may include water and a cellulosic suspension agent to form a bulk paint. The ceramic powder system may be processed to form a uniform powder. The bulk paint or uniform powder may be applied to a metal substrate, such as a ferrous metal substrate, dried, and heated to form a flexible coating on the metal substrate.
