MONITORING DEVICES AND METHODS

Monitoring devices and monitoring technology are disclosed for a number of applications. A monitoring device that attaches to a measurement site includes at least one of an optical sensor, a temperature sensor, or first and second electrical contact sensors. A monitoring device or a smart garment can be powered by one or more bio-batteries that is each formed by electrodes in contact with the user's body (e.g., skin) or an animal. Various method and algorithms can be used to process signals received from the optical sensor, a temperature sensor, and/or first and second electrical contact sensors. The signals received from the optical sensor, a temperature sensor, and/or first and second electrical contact sensors can be transmitted to a host device. An application program on a host device can process the signals to compute one or more physiological parameters, waveform data, trend data, and/or one or more reports.

A hood for a hooded garment may include apertures in the hood to improve a sealing connection between headphone earpieces and the outer portion of the user's ears while using headphones while also maintaining the hood's ability to retain body heat when not using headphones. While using the hood with headphones, the apertures may improve the sealing connection between the headphone earpieces and the user's ears and, thus, improve the function of the headphones (e.g., sound translation or sound deadening). While using the hood without headphones, a portion of mesh fabric sewn into the hood over the apertures allows the hood to retain the user's body heat and thereby mitigate heat loss through the hood caused by the apertures.

MIXED REALITY SURGICAL HELMET

A surgical helmet assembly can be securable to a mixed reality device and can include an inner frame, an outer frame, and a surgical hood. The inner frame can be securable to the mixed reality device. The outer frame can be releasably securable to the inner frame, where at least a portion of a lens of the mixed reality device exposed through the inner frame and the outer frame. The surgical hood can be connected to the outer frame and can be configured to cover at least a portion of a head of a user.
