An electrical battery operated display device for sport fans which is adapted to be coupled to a hat worn by a user comprises a spherical body which is displayable with visible images related to a specific sport team; one or more interface elements associated with the spherical body which are releasably securable to a display device mount; and at least first and second active elements, which, when activated, cause at least a portion of the spherical body to be controllably rotated about its central axis through interaction of the one or more releasably securable elements and simultaneously illuminated.

An attachment for mounting on straps extending between a rear opening of a cap. The attachment comprises a first panel having an outer and inner surface, a connector, and a second panel having an outer and inner surface. The panels are spaced such that the first and second panels face each other and are substantially parallel to each other. The connector connects the first panel and the second panel at the top edge of the first panel and defines a gap between the panels. The gap is sufficient to permit the strap or straps to nest within, such that when the strap or straps are nested, the first and second panels lie on opposite sides of the strap or straps. The outer surfaces of the panels display advertising indicia or decoration and have a cushioned area. The attachment may include a clip for holding at least a portion of the strap(s) against the first panel.

A lighting system for a hat includes a front housing containing lighting elements that mates with a back plate positioned on the inside of the hat. Driver circuitry controls operation of the LEDs for various lighting modes, and a cover for the front housing is translucent and designed in the shape of a recognizable logo or other design. Electric power comes from a battery located on the back plate, and is provided through the hate using prongs or projections that pass through the hat, from the back plate to a circuit connector in the front housing. The circuit connector is electrically coupled to circuitry on a circuit board in the front housing.

Contemplated devices comprise a set of attachment points that removably couple with a set of patches via fastener components. The patches can include various types of patches that provide different benefits to the wearer, including style, a scent, a noise, a tactile sensation, protection, and/or the ability to better communicate a feeling and/or a need.

A cap includes a head cover and a bill extending from the head cover. The head cover is configured to be worn on the head of a user of the cap. The bill includes an inner wall that defines a vent through the bill. The cap may also include a mesh located in or across the vent and configured to allow airflow through the vent. In some embodiments, the vent may have a shape that imparts information to a view of the bill of the cap.

A process is presented for creating 3D sculptures using a 3D printer. The 3D sculptures form a foreground for a 2D base image also applied by the 3D printer. The process involves using a 3D printer to apply colors and/or images like a conventional 2D printer while the 3D product is being created. A 2D base design is combined with a 3D sculpture design to create an integral “canvas” which faces outward from the base and presents a 3D image emerging from a 2D background. The completed “canvas” can then be attached to an apparel item, such as a hat, or an accessory item, such as a bag, using magnets or other conventional mechanical attachment means.

Methods and apparatus for preparing a host article and a decorative patch for removable attachment to one another using snap fasteners. In one example, a method includes simultaneously punching a first plurality of holes arranged in a first pattern into a front surface of the host article, positioning a plurality of host snap fasteners in the first plurality of holes, and simultaneously setting the plurality of host snap fasteners to secure the plurality of host snap fasteners to the host article. The method further includes simultaneously punching a second plurality of holes in a corresponding second pattern into a decorative patch and setting a plurality of patch snap fasteners in the second plurality of holes to secure the plurality of patch snap fasteners to the decorative patch, the plurality of patch snap fasteners being configured to mate with the plurality of host snap fasteners to removably attach the decorative patch to the host article.
