GLASS FOR VEHICLES AND CAMERA UNIT
Glass (1) for vehicles includes a light blocking region (A2) in which a far-infrared ray transmission region (B) provided with an opening and a far-infrared ray transmission member arranged in the opening, and a visible light transmission region (C) transmitting visible light are formed. The opening is formed between an upper edge part (1a) of the glass (1) and a first position (P1) in a first direction from the upper edge part (1a) toward a lower edge part (1b) of the glass (1), the first position (P1) is a position at which a distance from the upper edge part (1a) is 30% of a length from the upper edge part (1a) to the lower edge part (1b), and between a second position (P2) and a third position (P3) in a second direction from a side edge part (1c) toward a side edge part (1d) of the glass (1) for vehicles. A length (L2a) in the second direction from the second position (P2) to the third position (P3) is 55% of a length (L2) from the side edge part (1c) to the side edge part (1d), and a length of the longest straight line among straight lines connecting optional two points within a surface on a vehicle exterior side is equal to or smaller than 80 mm.
Laser system and method forming a high purity fused silica glass sheet with micro-crenellations
A system and method for sintering a thin, high purity fused silica glass sheet having a thickness of 500 μm or less, includes a step of rastering a beam of a laser across a sheet of high purity fused silica soot; wherein a pattern of the rastering includes tightly spacing target locations on the sheet such that the laser sinters the soot and simultaneously forms tiny notches on a first major surface of the sheet when viewed in cross-section, wherein the tiny notches are crenellated such that at least some of the notches have generally flat bottom surfaces and at least some respective adjoining caps have generally plateau top surfaces offset from the bottom surfaces by steeply-angled sidewalls.
ANTIMICROBIAL BIOCOMPATIBLE METAL ALLOY AND MANUFACTURE OF THE SAME
To provide Ti—Cu alloy formulations and additive manufacturing process configurations for fabrication of a bulk metallic glass (BMG) product that is biocompatible and antimicrobial, compositions of Ti-based metal alloy powder, comprising: Ti; Cu within a range of 5-30 atomic percent; transition metal within a range of 0-50 atomic percent, wherein such transition metal is one or a plurality of Zr, Nb, Ta, Pd, and Co, are disclosed. Moreover, additive manufacturing processes disclosed herein are capable of fabricating a bulk metallic glass of one or a combination of following phasic structures: fully amorphous microstructure; amorphous beta titanium phase; amorphous copper phase; and amorphous (Ti,M).sub.2Cu phase. The resulting biocompatible metal alloy product may be a medical device, particularly but not limited to a medical implant.
ANTIMICROBIAL BIOCOMPATIBLE METAL ALLOY AND MANUFACTURE OF THE SAME

The resulting biocompatible metal alloy product may be a medical device, particularly but not limited to a medical implant.
Hermetic metallized via with improved reliability
An article includes a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and at least one via extending through the substrate from the first major surface to the second major surface over an axial length in an axial dimension. The article also includes a metal connector disposed within the via that hermetically seals the via. The article has a helium hermeticity of less than or equal to 1.0×10.sup.−8 atm-cc/s after 1000 thermal shock cycles, each of the thermal shock cycle comprises cooling the article to a temperature of −40° C. and heating the article to a temperature of 125° C., and the article has a helium hermeticity of less than or equal to 1.0×10.sup.−8 atm-cc/s after 100 hours of HAST at a temperature of 130° C. and a relative humidity of 85%.
Hermetic metallized via with improved reliability
An article includes a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and at least one via extending through the substrate from the first major surface to the second major surface over an axial length in an axial dimension. The article also includes a metal connector disposed within the via that hermetically seals the via. The article has a helium hermeticity of less than or equal to 1.0×10.sup.−8 atm-cc/s after 1000 thermal shock cycles, each of the thermal shock cycle comprises cooling the article to a temperature of −40° C. and heating the article to a temperature of 125° C., and the article has a helium hermeticity of less than or equal to 1.0×10.sup.−8 atm-cc/s after 100 hours of HAST at a temperature of 130° C. and a relative humidity of 85%.
VEHICLE WINDOW GLASS ASSEMBLY
A vehicle window glass assembly according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a vehicle window glass pane with a silver-containing conductor layer of predetermined pattern formed on a main surface of the glass pane; a solder layer made of an indium-containing lead-free solder; a connection terminal connected to the conductor layer via the solder layer, and a power line fixed to the connection terminal. The connection terminal includes: a metal plate having a first main surface joined to the solder layer and a second main surface located opposite to the first main surface; and a fixing part that fixes the power line to the second main surface. The power line extends from the fixing part. A starting point of the power line extending from the fixing part is situated above a region inside a joint region defined by the solder layer and the first main surface.
HERMETIC METALLIZED VIA WITH IMPROVED RELIABILITY
According to various embodiments described herein, an article comprises a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and a via extending through the substrate from the first major surface to the second major surface over an axial length in an axial direction. The article further comprises a helium hermetic adhesion layer disposed on the interior surface; and a metal connector disposed within the via, wherein the metal connector is adhered to the helium hermetic adhesion layer. The metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a first cavity from the first major surface to a first cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the first major surface. Additionally, the metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a second cavity from the second major surface to a second cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the second major surface and fully fills the via between the first cavity and the second cavity.
HERMETIC METALLIZED VIA WITH IMPROVED RELIABILITY
According to various embodiments described herein, an article comprises a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and a via extending through the substrate from the first major surface to the second major surface over an axial length in an axial direction. The article further comprises a helium hermetic adhesion layer disposed on the interior surface; and a metal connector disposed within the via, wherein the metal connector is adhered to the helium hermetic adhesion layer. The metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a first cavity from the first major surface to a first cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the first major surface. Additionally, the metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a second cavity from the second major surface to a second cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the second major surface and fully fills the via between the first cavity and the second cavity.
Methods for manufacturing tempered vacuum glass and production lines therefor
The disclosure discloses a manufacturing method of tempered vacuum glass, comprising the following steps: (1) manufacturing metalized layers, and performing tempering or thermal enhancement on the glass substrates; (2) placing a metal solder on the metalized layers; (3) superposing the glass substrates to form a tempered glass assembly; (4) heating the tempered glass assembly to 60-230° C.; (5) keeping the tempered glass assembly within the heating temperature range of step (4) in a vacuum chamber, and vacuumizing the vacuum chamber to a preset vacuum degree; and (6) hermetically sealing the metalized layers by adopting a metal brazing process. By adopting the manufacturing method of the disclosure, the stress when the two glass substrates are sealed can be greatly reduced, and the connection strength can be increased; moreover, when gas is exhausted within the temperature range, the exhaust efficiency is high, and the exhaust effect is better, vacuum glass with high vacuum degree can be obtained, and the service life of the vacuum glass is prolonged. The disclosure further discloses a tempered vacuum glass production line based on the above mentioned manufacturing method.
