FABRICATION OF LOW DEFECTIVITY ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES

Prior electrochromic devices frequently suffer from high levels of defectivity. The defects may be manifest as pin holes or spots where the electrochromic transition is impaired. This is unacceptable for many applications such as electrochromic architectural glass. Improved electrochromic devices with low defectivity can be fabricated by depositing certain layered components of the electrochromic device in a single integrated deposition system. While these layers are being deposited and/or treated on a substrate, for example a glass window, the substrate never leaves a controlled ambient environment, for example a low pressure controlled atmosphere having very low levels of particles. These layers may be deposited using physical vapor deposition. In certain embodiments, the device includes a counter electrode having an anodically coloring electrochromic material in combination with an additive.

Provided is an optical filter capable of reducing the dependency on the angle of light incidence. An optical filter 1 includes a hydrogenated silicon-containing film 4, wherein in a Raman spectrum of the hydrogenated silicon-containing film 4 measured by Raman spectroscopy a ratio (SiH/SiH.sub.2) obtained from a ratio between an area of a peak derived from SiH and an area of a peak derived from SiH.sub.2 is 0.7 or more.

AUTOMOTIVE GLAZING WITH NEUTRAL COLOR SOLAR CONTROL COATING

Due to the increased glazed area of modern vehicles, especially the large panoramic glass roofs, we have seen a substantial growth in the use solar control glass and coatings. The solar glass compositions and coatings are expensive to manufacture. While solar coatings are more efficient than compositions, they typically cannot be used on monolithic glazing as they are not durable. They must be applied to one of the surfaces on the inside of a laminate. Most of these products also introduce an undesirable color shift. The invention provides a coating that can be used on glass to produce a laminated or monolithic glazing with a neutral gray solar control coating which also has anti-reflective properties and low emissivity.

METHOD FOR PROTECTING LOW-E GLASS PLATE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING GLASS UNIT, LAMINATE AND PROTECTIVE SHEET FOR LOW-E GLASS PLATE

Provided is a Low-E glass plate protection method capable of preventing or inhibiting Low-E layer alteration. In the protection method, a protective sheet having a substrate and a PSA layer provided to at least one face of the substrate is applied for protection via the PSA layer to a Low-E glass plate having a Low-E layer that comprises a zinc component. The method is characterized by using the protective sheet wherein the PSA layer is formed from a water-dispersed PSA composition and includes less than 850 μg ammonia per gram of PSA layer weight.

Glass articles with low-friction coatings

Glass articles with coatings are disclosed herein. According to embodiments, a glass article may include a glass body comprising glass and having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface is an exterior surface of the glass body. A coating disposed on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The coated glass article may have an effective throughput rate greater than or equal to 1.10×R.sub.T, wherein R.sub.T is the effective throughput rate of an uncoated glass article in units of parts per minute (ppm).

Window and display device comprising the same

A window for a display device that includes: a base substrate; a first coating layer disposed on a first surface of the base substrate; and a second coating layer disposed on a second surface that overlaps the first surface of the base substrate, wherein the base substrate further includes a vertical surface perpendicular to the first surface and the second surface, and the first coating layer overlaps the vertical surface. The impact resistance of the window is improved through the first coating layer covering the rear surface and the vertical surface of the base substrate.

PROCESS FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF ANTIMICROBIAL GLAZED MATERIAL
20220356112 · 2022-11-10 ·

The process for transforming an industrial soda-lime-type base glass plate into a glazed material with antimicrobial properties and personalized color consists in an antimicrobial glazed material production process. Copper nanoparticles (NPCu) are added to said glass with the aim of directly altering cell protection against viruses and bacteria in order to destroy their genetic material. The antibacterial glass is specifically applied to the industrial sector of surfaces and covers that are usually used in hospital facilities, and covers for the handling of food and beverages, among other uses.
