Disclosed herein is an optical fiber assembly comprising a launching fiber having a receiving end and a transmitting end; an illuminating fiber having a receiving end and a transmitting end; where the receiving end of the launching fiber is operative to receive light from a light source and the transmitting end of the launching fiber is operative to transmit light to the receiving end of the illuminating fiber; where the launching fiber contacts the illuminating fiber in a manner so as to be offset from a center of a cross-sectional area of the illuminating fiber; and where the launching fiber has a diameter that is to of a diameter of the illuminating fiber; and a lens that is operative to contact the transmitting end of the illuminating fiber.

Optical fiber
An optical fiber comprises a glass fiber, and a coating resin layer having a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer, wherein the primary resin layer consists of a cured resin composition containing an oligomer, a monomer and a photopolymerization initiator, the oligomer is a reaction product of a specific polyol compound, a polyisocyanate compound, and a hydroxyl group-containing acrylate compound, the photopolymerization initiator includes 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenyl phosphine and 1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone at a mass ratio of 5:1 to 1:1, and a content of 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenyl phosphine in the resin composition is 1.5 to 2.5% by mass.
Manufacturing method, control device, and manufacturing apparatus of optical fiber
A manufacturing method of an optical fiber includes drawing an optical fiber preform and forming a bare optical fiber, coating an outer circumference of the bare optical fiber with a coating layer including a resin, and holding the bare optical fiber using one or a plurality of non-contact holding portions at any position between a position where the bare optical fiber is formed and a position where the coating is performed. The non-contact holding portion includes a guide groove which guides the bare optical fiber, and an internal space portion into which a fluid is introduced from an outside, in the guide groove, and an outlet through which the fluid in the internal space portion is blown to float the bare optical fiber in the guide groove is formed.
Coated optical fiber and method for manufacturing coated optical fiber
A coated optical fiber, including a coating layer with a high elastic modulus even when a glass optical fiber is coated with resin by using an ultraviolet semiconductor light emitting element as a light source for curing resin and using a Wet-on-Wet method, is provided. A manufacturing method of the coated optical fiber includes: applying a first ultraviolet curable resin to a glass optical fiber; applying a second ultraviolet curable resin to the periphery of the first ultraviolet curable resin before curing the first ultraviolet curable resin; and irradiating the first and second ultraviolet curable resins with light in a wavelength range of 350 to 405 nm emitted from an ultraviolet semiconductor light emitting element, wherein the second ultraviolet curable resin contains a photopolymerization initiator that absorbs the light from the ultraviolet semiconductor light emitting element to generate radicals, and the photopolymerization initiator has photobleaching properties.
Gypsum panels, systems, and methods
Gypsum panels, sheathing systems, and methods of making and using the same are provided. A gypsum panel includes a gypsum core associated with a first fiberglass mat having a continuous barrier coating, the coating penetrating a portion of the first fiberglass mat opposite the gypsum core, wherein gypsum penetrates a remaining fibrous portion of the first fiberglass mat such that voids in the first fiberglass mat are substantially eliminated. A building sheathing system includes at least two gypsum panels and a seaming component to provide a seam at an interface between the gypsum panels.
Ferrite compositions
Ferrite compositions, particularly ferrite coated substrates and more particularly fiber plys coated with ferrites in fiber reinforced polymer composites (FRPC), and composites with a plurality of functionalized fiber layers, include a magnetic ferrite composition for coating a substrate, said composition comprising a resin, and dispersed therein ferrite particulates, wherein said ferrite particulates have an average longest dimension of less than 500 nm. The composition may be used to provide a ferrite composite structure comprising at least one fiber ply, with at least one layer of a magnetic ferrite composition deposed thereon, wherein said ply is substantially encapsulated in a binder matrix to form a fiber reinforced polymer composite.
Colored optical fiber
The present invention provides a two-layer structure colored optical fiber which includes a colored secondary coating layer improved in collectability and separability. The two-layer structure colored optical fiber in an embodiment of the present invention includes a glass optical fiber, a primary coating layer coating the glass optical fiber, and a colored secondary coating layer coating the primary coating layer. The secondary coating layer has such characteristics that a surface cure percentage is 99% or more at an infrared absorption peak of a wave number of 1407 cm.sup.1 and a surface kinetic friction force in Knot Test is less than 0.075 N.
Optical fiber
An optical fiber comprises a glass fiber which comprises a core and a cladding, a primary resin coating layer which covers the periphery of the glass fiber, and a secondary resin coating layer which covers the periphery of the primary resin coating layer. The glass fiber is a multimode fiber having a core diameter of 40-60 m and a cladding diameter of 90-110 m, and the primary resin coating layer is a layer formed by curing a curable resin composition which comprises oligomers, monomers, and a reaction initiator, the curable resin composition containing a one-end-capped oligomer in an amount of 30% by mass or larger based on all the oligomers.
