A latching device configured to secure a first piece of material to a second piece of material. For example, the first piece of material is a boat tarp and the second piece of material is a boat hull. The latching device includes a locking buckle and clasp assembly. The locking buckle has a main body portion and a release mechanism. The release mechanism has locking pawls with claw members. The locking pawls engage the clasp assembly to releasably retain the locking buckle on the clasp assembly.

The breakaway device includes a housing and a releasable component mated to the housing. In specific embodiments, the breakaway device further includes a latch. The latch includes a catch. When the device is configured in an unlatched position, the catch does not interfere with the removal of the releasable component from the housing. When the device is configured in a latched position, the catch does interfere with the removal of the releasable component from the housing, increasing the magnitude of force required to release the releasable component from the housing. In specific embodiments, both configurations are achieved with a single device. In other specific embodiments, the configurations are achieved through separate devices.

A breakaway device for use with the strap system of a hard hat. The breakaway device is coupled to a strap system of a hard hat, and the strap system is coupled to a hard hat outer shell. The breakaway device includes a housing and a releasable component mated to the housing. In specific embodiments, the breakaway device further includes a latch. The latch includes a catch. When the device is configured in an unlatched position, the catch does not interfere with the removal of the releasable component from the housing. When the device is configured in a latched position, the catch does interfere with the removal of the releasable component from the housing, increasing the magnitude of force required to release the releasable component from the housing. An adjustment device of the position of a first part with respect to a second part, comprising an adjustment button mounted movable in translation inside a groove provided in the second part, and a blocking part having a locked position in which the blocking part prevents the first part from translating along the groove, and a locked position in which the blocking part enables the first part to translate along the groove, the adjustment button translating along the groove to move the blocking part to the unlocked position and to translate the first part along the groove.

A slip plane is disposed between at least one set of adjacent ply groups, such that the adjacent ply groups remain unconnected or substantially unconnected at the slip plane. The softened ballistic panel retains significant ballistic properties, is light weight and can be readily conformed to various torso configurations.

On the outside of the shell there is a plurality of flexible energy divergent baffles (FEDB) attached to the outside of said shell. The flexible energy divergent baffle comprises a base, a flat top, and an offset baffle connecting the flat top with the base. On top of the base is a wafer, upon which resides an energy transferring bumper.
