GLASSES, CEMENTS AND USES THEREOF
Various embodiments of tantalum- and/or niobium-containing glasses and cements as well as uses thereof are described herein. For example, in an embodiment, the glasses comprise a transition metal pentoxide such as tantalum pentoxide and/or niobium pentoxide present in the glass in an amount of less than 2.0 mol %, based on the total composition of the glass, glass polyalkenoate cements prepared from such glasses and uses of such cements, for example, for sternal closure or fixation, stabilization and/or repair of a fracture in a bone in the wrist, elbow, knee, shoulder, spine and/or hip.
WOLLASTONITE CRYSTALLIZED GLASS FOR ARTIFICIAL TOOTH AND METHOD FOR COLORING SAME
Disclosed are a wollastonite crystallized glass for an artificial tooth and a method for coloring same, the method enabling a production of a uniform shade without degrading the physical properties of a crystallized glass by means of simply adding a small amount of coloring additive powder when preparing the crystallized glass.
DENTAL ENAMEL COMPOSITIONS WITH ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AGENTS FOR ANIMALS
Provided are methods and compositions relating to a dental composition more specifically to prepare the damaged dentin of the tooth for animals and pets such as canine, feline and members of the taxonomic family Equidae prior to repair. The dental compositions include a bioactive glass and a non-aqueous solvent comprising an alcohol, anti-inflammatory and anti-pain reliever.
Radiopaque glass and uses thereof
The amorphous, or at least partially crystalline, glass-based joining material is suitable for high-temperature applications, particularly in fuel cells and/or sensors. In addition to SiO.sub.2 and B.sub.2O.sub.3 as glass formers, the joining material similarly contains BaO and CaO, whereby the amount of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 is limited. The joining material has a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of at least 7.0.Math.10.sup.6 K.sup.1 in a range of 20 C. to 300 C. The joining material can be used for joining ferritic high-grade steels and/or chromium-containing alloys and/or ceramics, such as stabilized zirconium oxide and/or aluminium oxide.
DENTAL GLASS AND DENTAL COMPOSITION
A dental glass includes: phosphorus; sodium and/or potassium; and calcium, wherein the dental glass contains, in terms of oxide, phosphorus (P.sub.2O.sub.5) by greater than or equal to 40% by mass and less than or equal to 70% by mass, sodium and/or potassium (Na.sub.2O, K.sub.2O) by greater than or equal to 20% by mass and less than or equal to 40% by mass, and calcium (CaO) by greater than or equal to 1% by mass and less than or equal to 20% by mass, and wherein the dental glass does not substantially contain silicon and aluminum.
LITHIUM DISILICATE GLASS-CERAMIC COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THEREOF
A bioactive glass-ceramic composition as defined herein. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the disclosed compositions.
INTEGRATED PORCELAIN SYSTEM FOR A DENTAL PROSTHESIS
An integrated dental porcelain system for making dental prostheses and restorations is provided. The system includes three universal major components: a) opaque porcelain composition; b) pressable dentin ingot; and c) veneering porcelain composition that can be used interchangeably for making restorations. Techniques for making the prostheses and restorations include porcelain fused-to-metal (PFM), press-to-metal (PTM), and either pressed and/or machined all-ceramic methods. The system uses both a hand-layering of veneering porcelain (PFM technique) and a hot-pressing process (PTM and all-ceramic technique) to fabricate the prostheses and restorations.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPOSITION FOR TREATING A TOOTH LESION
The invention relates to a method for preparing a composition for treating a tooth lesion, said composition comprising peptides that are capable of undergoing self-assembly at a certain pH. The compositions of the invention are highly suitable for being used in the medical field, in particular for remineralising a tooth lesion such as a subsurface caries lesion.
DENTAL PORCELAIN PASTE CONTAINING INORGANIC SALT
[Problem]
To provide a dental porcelain paste that can maintain a constant paste property even during long-term storage, and that hardly generates carbonization and bubbles during firing even in the case of containing organic components.
[Solution]
To provide a dental porcelain paste for preparing a dental prosthesis device, comprising (a) base material glass having an average particle diameter D50 of 1 to 20 ?m, (b) hydrophobized fine particle silica having an average primary particle diameter of 1 to 50 nm, (c) organic solvent having a boiling point of 100 to 300? C., and (d) inorganic salt.
METHOD TO PRODUCE A MONOLITHIC FORM BODY
The invention relates to a method for producing a monolithic form body, in particular a dental restoration, comprising the steps of: providing of a blank, producing of the form body through pressing and/or machining of the blank, and softening of the form body exclusively in its surface region by irradiation with infrared radiation.
