Medical headgear

A flexible band for a medical headgear comprises an inner surface, an opposite outer surface, and a non-stretch central portion having a friction pad disposed on the inner surface. The friction pad is formed from a grip or tacky material and is disposed at least partially between the inner surface and the outer surface of the non-stretch central portion in a solidified state of the friction pad.

Helmet with Extended Portions Configured to Protect Squamous Temporal Bones of a Wearer
20220015487 · 2022-01-20 ·

A helmet includes a frame having a plurality of tubular segments. The frame includes a cap portion and at least one extension portion. The cap portion includes a plurality of main tubular segments extending from a front of the helmet, configured to be positioned over a forehead of the wearer, to a back of the helmet, configured to be positioned over an occipital region of the wearer's head, and at least one tubular cross segment extending between the main segments. The at least one extension portion includes extending tubular segments that extend from the cap portion to a common point that is configured to be positioned below the wearer's ear. The helmet also includes at least one perforated cover plate mounted to the extending tubular segments, which is configured to cover the wearer's ear and squamous temporal bones of the wearer's head.

Protective sports headgear

The disclosure relates to a protective sports headgear device and method for manufacturing a protective sports headgear device. The device may include various padding materials that can reduce the risk of head injury for the wearer. One or more external covering layers can be connected to the padding or can surround and retain the padding. The protective sports headgear device may provide protection for the ears of the wearer as well. Additionally, the protective sports headgear device can be suitable for use in the sports of water polo, wrestling, or other sports.

AN ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION SYSTEM FOR A HELMET

An active noise cancellation (ANC) system has a mounting plate, a first face of which is configured to be disposed against an inner surface of a helmet to form, with the helmet, a chamber. When the mounting plate is mounted on the helmet, a loudspeaker provided on the first face of the mounting plate is within the chamber. The plate has an aperture for allowing transmission of sound from the loudspeaker to the spatial region. At least one reference microphone is mounted on a second face of the plate. The plate acts as a mounting plate for components of the ANC system, simplifying the process of installing an ANC system. Also, the plate serves to define a chamber that accommodates the loudspeaker of the ANC system and provides good acoustic coupling of the sound signal from the loudspeaker of the ANC system into the quiet zone of the ANC system.

Hearing protection device

A hearing protection device has a base (11) configured for connecting to a lateral portion of a protective helmet (1), an ear cup (20) configured for covering an ear of a user, and a support (30) connecting the ear cup (20) to the base (11). The support (30) has a first arm (31) and a second arm (32) each having an upper part connected to the base (11) by at least one connection member (50) and a lower part connected to the ear cup (20). The at least one connection member (50) is elastically deformable to allow relative movement of the upper part of the first arm (31) relative to the upper part of the second arm (32). The hearing protection device is movable between an active position, in which the ear cup (20) is configured to cover the ear of the user, and an inactive position, in which the ear cup (20) is configured to be spaced apart from the ear of the user.

HEADGEAR

A headgear includes a pair of noise reduction components. Each noise reduction component is configured to fit over and/or at least partially inside respective ears of a user of the headgear. The pair of noise reduction components are coupled to a first strap. The first strap is configured to retain the pair of noise-reduction components in contact with the ears of the user. Each noise reduction component of the pair of noise reduction components includes a laminated structure that includes at least one sound-reflecting layer, and at least one sound-absorbing layer that is arranged to be closer to the ear of the user than the at least one sound-reflecting layer.

CIRCUMAURAL EAR CUSHION/SEAL

A helmet includes a shell configured to extend over ears of a user with integrated acoustic ear cups having a polygonal cushion/seal formed by an upper hexagonal portion connected to a lower inverted triangular portion with a wedge-shaped profile/thickness thinner in the upper portion than at least some of the lower portion to provide non-uniform side loading that improves wearer comfort and reduces acoustic leak paths for passive or active noise reduction (ANR). A headband, headset, or earmuffs for hearing protection include a polygonal cushion/seal with a wedge-shaped profile/thickness to facilitate acoustic sealing and user comfort.
