Helmet shield opening mechanism and helmet with changeable jaw guard equipped with the same

A helmet shield opening mechanism is provided, wherein first and second constraint tracks are provided on at least one support leg of a shield jaw guard, and a driver element is configured to come into contact with and drive the two tracks, so that the helmet has forced and controlled modes relative to the opening action and process of the helmet body. On one hand, the operational reliability and flexibility of the shield opening mechanism can be improved; on the other hand, the shield is opened smoothly without collision, thus improving the wearing comfort of the helmet. Further, a helmet with changeable jaw guard equipped with the helmet shield opening mechanism can plan the opening process of the shield flexibly to adapt to states of the jaw guard at different operation positions, thereby greatly reducing the chances of collision between the jaw guard and the shield.

A helmet having a movable and openable jaw shield is disclosed. The movable jaw shield is pivotable about a hinge located on the front of the helmet chin bar. The movable jaw shield in open configuration clears the space in front of the user's mouth to facilitate communications from the user. Preferably, the movable jaw shield may also be detached from the pivot to be removed or interchanged. The movable jaw shield is suited with a breath guard configured to mate with a protrusion on the lower front portion of goggles frames. The mating of the goggles and breath guard preferably substantially prevent environmental foreign materials from entering between the breath guard and goggles.

A protective helmet has a jet helmet part and a chin part which are releasably connected to each other by a coupling part. The chin part and the jet helmet part can be swiveled relative to each other by a swiveling mechanism between an integral helmet position and a jet helmet position. The coupling part includes a coupling element on the chin part and a second coupling element on the jet helmet part, which coupling elements engage to form a mutually releasable form-fit coupling. The swiveling mechanism actuates a locking mechanism where the locking mechanism includes a blocking slider and is designed such that, in the integral helmet position, the blocking slider blocks the first coupling element such that a decoupling of the coupling elements is prevented, and in the jet helmet position, the blocking of the first coupling element is released thereby enabling the coupling elements to be decoupled.

The third engagement surface interfaces with the first engagement surface and the fourth engagement surface interfaces with the second engagement surface. The first flange extends from the first end of the cage. The second flange extends from the second end of the cage. The first flange and the second flange of the chinbar are embedded within the padding.

The chin bar may also include two side buckles that engage with side recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet. The chin bar may also include two alignment protrusions positioned to engage with alignment recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet.
