HELMET AND FAMILY OF HELMETS
A helmet including a helmet shell for receiving a head of a wearer of the helmet, the helmet shell including: a crown portion, and a first jaw shield portion integrally connected to the crown portion, the crown portion and the first jaw shield portion defining a front aperture; and a mask selectively closing the front aperture. The mask includes a mask body including a visor portion, and a second jaw shield portion integrally connected to the visor portion; and at least one connecting member connecting the mask body to the helmet shell, the mask body being selectively displaceable between a closed position and an open position: in the closed position, the mask body closing the front aperture and the second jaw shield portion mating with the first jaw shield portion, in the open position, the mask body being displaced away from the front aperture.
MODULAR HELMET SYSTEM
A modular helmet system comprises a helmet and a chin bar detachably mountable to the helmet. The helmet comprises two receiving-brackets. The chin bar may be inserted into the receiving-brackets of the helmet with its two ends in front in a substantially straight line, wherein the chin bar is lockable in the receiving-brackets in an end position. Each of the two receiving-brackets comprises two insertion flanks which extend towards each other along the direction of insertion at an acute centering angle, wherein the insertion flanks are configured to center the chin bar in the vertical direction when being inserted and to form a stop for the chin bar in the end position of the chin bar.
FOOTBALL HELMET WITH IMPACT ATTENUATION SYSTEM
A protective football helmet is provided having a one-piece molded shell with an impact attenuation system. This system includes an impact attenuation member formed in an extent of the front shell portion by removing material from the front portion. The impact attenuation member is purposely engineered to change how the front portion responds to an impact force applied substantially normal to the front portion as compared to how other portions of the shell respond to that impact force. In one version, the impact attenuation member is a cantilevered segment formed in the front portion of the shell.
Mandible shield
A mandible shield comprises at least one panel having a peripheral edge, an inner surface, and an outer surface. The at least one panel is comprised of a ballistics material. A frame is coupled to the at least one panel and covers the peripheral edge of the at least one panel. The frame has at least one window exposing at least a portion of the outer surface of the at least one panel. The frame is configured to at least partially extend over a mandible of a user when the frame is coupled to opposing lateral sides of a helmet.
Enduro mountain biking chin bar
A bicycle helmet system comprising a helmet and a chin bar is disclosed. The chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet and wrapped circumferentially around a portion of the helmet. The chin bar may include a rear buckle configured to tighten the chin bar around the helmet. The chin bar may also include two side buckles that engage with side recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet. The chin bar may also include two alignment protrusions positioned to engage with alignment recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet.
HELMET SLIDE ASSEMBLY
A helmet slide assembly is attached to a helmet and functioning to enable a tilting of a visor relative to the helmet. The helmet assembly includes a base plate that is attached to a sidewall of the helmet and a slide plate disposed substantially in a parallel arrangement relative to the base plate and secured to a sidewall of the visor. The slide plate has an elongated slot for receiving a pivot member. The assembly also includes a pivot plate having locked and unlocked positions. The pivot member is secured at one end thereof to the pivot plate and the slide plate is constructed and arranged for a sliding motion once the pivot plate is unlocked.
Helmet
A chin guard support mechanism includes first and second fixed-side members, and a moving-side member fixed to the chin guard. When the chin guard pivots forward from a down position in a rising direction, an annular following surface provided on the moving-side member pivots forward while following an annular followed surface provided on the second fixed-side member to make the chin guard rise while moving forward. It is possible to provide a helmet that allows the chin guard support mechanism capable of relatively excellently raising/lowering the chin guard to have a simple structure, allows to operate the chin guard support mechanism smoothly, obviates the necessity of making the structure in a region including an end of the chin guard including the chin guard support mechanism and a vicinity thereof bulky, and obviates the necessity of making the widthwise size of the helmet large.
HELMET WITH AIRFLOW VENTILATION THROUGH AN EARPAD
A helmet can include a protective shell and a layer of energy management material coupled to an inner surface of the protective shell to form a cavity for receiving a head of a user. An earpad can be coupled to the inner surface of the protective shell that comprises an inner surface that further defines a space for an ear of a user. The earpad can further include a leading edge at a front of the helmet, the leading edge extending between the outer surface of the protective shell and the inner surface of the earpad. An air intake opening can be formed at the leading edge of the earpad. An air exhaust opening can be formed at a trailing edge of the earpad. An airflow channel can extend through the earpad between the air intake opening and the air exhaust opening.
TYPE VARIABLE HELMET
A type variable helmet includes a half face unit formed to cover an upper part of a user's head, and an under face unit detachably attached to a lower part of the half face unit and configured to cover a lower part of the head of the user.
BALLISTIC AND IMPACT PROTECTIVE SYSTEM FOR MILITARY HELMET ASSEMBLY
A helmet assembly includes a face shield and a single, center top mounting arrangement that operatively connects a center top location of the face shield to a center front mount on the helmet. The face shield can be raised and lowered about a pivot axis provided in the mounting arrangement between a tilted up, non-use position and a lowered, deployed position. The mounting arrangement can include a detent and two recesses, wherein the detent engages a first recess at a slightly forwardly displaced position to allow ventilation between the helmet and mandible and the face shield and a second recess at the tilted up, non-use position. The recess and detent engagement can be overcome by easy manual force acting on the face shield to reposition the face shield.
