CARBONATED COMPOSITE

The invention relates to a process for producing a composite comprising: a. providing a particulate material, wherein the particulate material comprises minerals having a content of at least 30% m/m of calcium, magnesium, aluminium, silicon, potassium or iron, or a combination of two or more thereof. b. providing an aggregate, c. providing a primary additive, wherein the primary additive comprises a sugar or derivative thereof, a polyol or derivative thereof, an organic acid, an organic acid salt or an inorganic acid, or any combination of two or more thereof, d. mixing the particulate material, the aggregate and the primary additive with water to form a mixture, and e. carbonating the mixture in the presence of carbon dioxide, wherein the concentration of carbon dioxide is greater than about 2 vol %.

Process for preparing metal-chelate retarder by sol-gel method

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a metal-chelate retarder by a sol-gel method. The method comprises the following steps: weighing calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, aluminum nitrate nonahydrate and ferric nitrate nonahydrate according to a certain mass ratio and adding them into deionized water; placing the mixed solution on a magnetic stirrer and stirring the mixed solution evenly; adding citric acid monohydrate or gluconic acid, ethylene glycol or glycerol, and placing the mixed solution into a water bath to react to obtain the metal-chelate retarder. The process of the present invention has a reliable principle, overcomes the defects of long production period, complex preparation and the like of the existing retarders, has the advantages of simple process operation, cheap and easily available raw materials, and short production period. The prepared retarder has wide temperature adaptation range and adjustable thickening time, is suitable for large-scale industrial production, and has a wide market application prospect.

DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING SELF-HARDENING CALCIUM SILICATE BASED COMPOSITIONS USED IN MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Delivery and/or injection systems, preferably for medical applications. Especially, a kit of parts for providing a dental composition able to self-hardening. The kit of parts includes a first waterproof container including an anhydrous calcium silicate phase; and a second container including an aqueous phase. The kit of parts may be used in delivery and/or injection systems so that it delivers a homogenous calcium silicate-based composition having a volume ratio between the calcium silicate phase and the aqueous phase ranging from 1 to 3. Also, the hardened material obtained from the kits of parts, the delivery and/or injection system.

CORROSION-PREVENTING ADDITIVE FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE

The corrosion-preventing additive for reinforced concrete is a concrete additive for preventing corrosion of steel rebars in steel-reinforced concrete. The corrosion-preventing additive is a solution with an organic solvent, the solute being either gallic acid (3,4.5-trihydroxybenzoic acid), at least one ester of gallic acid, or combinations thereof. The weight-to-volume concentration of the solute to the organic solvent may be between 1% and 10% w/v. Reinforced concrete may be made using the corrosion-preventing additive by mixing the corrosion-preventing additive with a conventional concrete mixture (i.e., a mixture of an aggregate, water, and cement), with at least one steel rebar being embedded in the mixture, similar to conventional steel rebar reinforced concrete. The concentration of the corrosion-preventing additive with respect to the cement of the mixture may be between 0.0125 wt% and 1.0 wt%.
