UNITLESS ACTIVITY ASSESSMENT AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A system assesses activity and displays a unitless activity value. A detector senses activity of a user. A processor reads sensed activity data from the detector. A display displays the unitless activity value. An enclosure houses the detector and the processor. The processor periodically reads the sensed activity data from the detector and processes the data to generate an activity number, the number being used to generate the unitless activity value based upon a maximum number and a display range.
Reconfigurable shoes and apparel and docking assembly therefor
Provided herein are methods for the modulation of appearance or material properties within items of apparel or equipment. Also provided herein are design articles having alterable designs. Generally, such design articles comprise (1) a microfluidic circuit, and (2) an inlet and an outlet, the alterable design capable of being modulated through use of a docking system to deliver fluid to the microfluidic circuit.
Components with embedded particles and methods of making same
A component, for example, a shoe foxing, may have one or more regions with embedded particles and one or more regions without embedded particles. The one or more regions without embedded particles may comprise one or more outer surfaces of the component. The component may be formed by heating and pressing material sections in a mold. The component may be formed by extrusion. One or more of the material sections may lack embedded particles.
Retro-reflective sheet and method for manufacturing the same
Disclosed are a retro-reflective sheet and a method for manufacturing the same. The retro-reflective sheet includes a first protective film, a first thermoplastic bonding layer, a first heat-resistant bonding layer, a colored layer, a light transmitting layer, a colored area allowing a portion of scattered light to be emitted to the outside through a first light condensing layer, a second protective film, a second thermoplastic bonding layer, a second heat-resistant bonding layer, a reflective layer, a reflective area reflecting light input through a second light condensing layer, and a base film.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR HAVING A DISPLAY SYSTEM POWERED BY MOTION
A display system for an article of footwear includes a display device, a control module, and a power source. The display device includes an optoelectronic display. The control module is configured to communicate with the display device. The power source is embedded within a plate of the article of footwear. The plate includes carbon fiber and conductive filaments embedded within a substrate.
OVERSHOES AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING OVERSHOES
Overshoes and methods for manufacturing at least a portion of overshoes are provided. In some examples, provided is an overshoe including a sole and an upper having a water-shedding texture. A portion of a perimeter of the water-shedding texture can be located immediately adjacent to the sole. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the overshoe can be formed of at least semi-transparent plastic to enable a viewer to see footwear inside the overshoe. In some examples, the overshoe can have a gusset to enhance water-resistance of the overshoe. In another example, the overshoe can have a reflective portion to enhance visibility in low-light conditions.
Quick release and interchangeable sandal strap/flip flop strap crafting system
A customizable flip flop includes a colored sole: a quick release fastener; a thong formed as a post having a bottom portion fixedly secured to the sole, and an upper portion formed with a receptacle to releasably secure the fastener thereto; and first and second straps. A first end of each strap is secured to a respective side at the rear of the sole. A second end of each strap comprises a ring that is received upon the shaft of the fastener, to releasably secure the straps' second ends to the post. Between each of its ends, the straps may be formed as a tube. Prior to securing the rings of each strap to the post, a plurality of colored plastic loops or rubber bands are received on each strap/tube, to customize coloring of the straps as desired, and to provide added comfort to the top of the wearer's foot.
Article of footwear incorporating an illuminable panel
An article of footwear may have an upper and a sole structure secured to the upper. The upper includes an illuminable panel and a plurality of strands positioned to extend adjacent and parallel to the illuminable panel. The illuminable panel has a surface with a covered area and an exposed area. The covered area includes a substantially opaque covering, and the exposed area is at least partially visible from the exterior of the footwear. The strands are located to correspond with the exposed area of the illuminable panel. Light from the exposed area of the illuminable panel may enhance, highlight, or otherwise increase the visibility of the strands or areas of the upper that include the strands.
Sigils For Use with Apparel
Apparel is disclosed that can be worn to assist an interactive game in tracking the movement of the wearer. The apparel may include one or more tracking marks formed of designs, patterns, or reflective materials that can be easily tracked by an interactive game. By providing tracking marks on apparel, rather than using a special-purpose device that must be separately worn, a player may enjoy a more natural feel when playing the interactive game. A user can wear the apparel for everyday purposes, and then simply begin playing the game wearing the apparel without having to put on any additional equipment. The apparel may use reflective materials, and the interactive game can employ a camera and a light source configuration where the camera is located within the observation angle of a player employing retroreflective materials reflecting light from the light source.
Alternative strap configurations for sandals and flip flops, and methods of manufacturing same
A flip-flop sandal includes a colored sole, and first and second straps that transition laterally away from a thong secured to the front of the sole. Rubber bands of different colors, thicknesses, outer diameters, and/or textures are received over the stop members at the distal ends of the straps, and onto the straps to customize its appearance. A special tool may be releasably coupled to the stop member and be used to easily slide the rubber bands over the stop members. The straps may have recesses transverse to its length, formed about an entire periphery of the strap, with rubber hands each configured to fit within one of the recesses. The rubber bands, straps, and/or portions of the sole may be formed of a material configured to absorb photons when present, and thereafter glow the various different colors when in the dark. Alternative manufacturing methods for flip flops is also provided.
