Durable reflective safety apparel with active laser illumination
Some embodiments provide reflective safety apparel that combines passive illuminating elements with active illuminating elements for improved nighttime visibility. The active illuminating elements include a laser module coupled to flexible laser tubing. The laser module directs laser light into the flexible laser tubing. The laser tubing retains and transfers the laser light throughout its length even when bent. This flexibility allows the active illuminating elements to outline and conform to the shape of the passive illuminating elements. The laser tubing from different garments, such as a jacket and pants, can be coupled together. A single laser module can illuminate both garments as the laser light traverses the laser tubing of one garment to the other.
SHOE WEAR-OUT SENSOR, BODY-BAR SENSING SYSTEM, UNITLESS ACTIVITY ASSESSMENT AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A system assesses activity and displays a unitless activity value. A detector senses activity of a user. A processor reads sensed activity data from the detector. A display displays the unitless activity value. An enclosure houses the detector and the processor. The processor periodically reads the sensed activity data from the detector and processes the data to generate an activity number, the number being used to generate the unitless activity value based upon a maximum number and a display range.
Sigils for use with apparel
Apparel is disclosed that can be worn to assist an interactive game in tracking the movement of the wearer. The apparel may include one or more tracking marks formed of designs, patterns, or reflective materials that can be easily tracked by an interactive game. By providing tracking marks on apparel, rather than using a special-purpose device that must be separately worn, a player may enjoy a more natural feel when playing the interactive game. A user can wear the apparel for everyday purposes, and then simply begin playing the game wearing the apparel without having to put on any additional equipment. The apparel may use reflective materials, and the interactive game can employ a camera and a light source configuration where the camera is located within the observation angle of a player employing retroreflective materials reflecting light from the light source.
Systems for Activating and/or Authenticating Electronic Devices for Operation with Footwear And Other Uses
Articles of footwear and footwear systems include modules, e.g., for sensing physical and/or physiological characteristics associated with use of the footwear or for performing other functions. Such systems and methods may use physical or other interaction(s) between the module and the article of footwear for activating and/or deactivating the module and/or sensing devices included with the module, for confirming whether the module and footwear are authorized for use with one another, and/or for automatic data algorithm selection methods. Additionally, such systems and methods also may use the activation and/or authentication systems for the module for data input to the module. Some examples of such systems and methods may utilize magnets and magnetic sensing systems and/or light (or other radiation) sources and sensing systems for activation, authentication, data input, and/or algorithm selection.

HIGH-BRIGHTNESS REFLECTIVE LUMINOUS MEMBRANE, ITS FABRICATING METHOD AND OBJECT ATTACHED WITH SUCH MEMBRANE
The high-brightness reflective luminous membrane of the present invention comprises (from top to bottom) a reflective layer and an attachment layer. The reflective layer is formed by a plurality of beads held in place by an adhesive. The attachment layer may adhere to a substrate. The beads may be transparent beads, which may reflect white light, or translucent beads, which are plated with metal via galvanization and may reflect colorful light. Either the attachment layer or the reflective layer may be provided with luminous powder, reflective powder, colors (or a first pattern) via coating, spraying, adhesion or printing to form a colorful reflective luminous layer. With the presence of incident light, the membrane can reflect high-brightness white light and/or bright colorful light. In addition, the membrane may exhibit various types of reflected patterns according to the distance to incident light source and brightness of incident light and a viewer's observing angle.
