Treatment of tailing streams
A process for treating a tailings stream comprising water, solids, and optionally polyacrylamide. The process involves (a) contacting the tailings stream with a silicate source for a pre-determined period of time to form a mixture; b) after a pre-determined period of time of at least 5 minutes, contacting the mixture with an activator to initiate gel formation, wherein the gel entraps the solids within the gel; and c) allowing the gel to strengthen and solidify; wherein the gel formation is delayed compared with a non-delayed process.
Green aircraft interior panels
The present invention relates to sandwich panels used as aircraft interior parts. In addition to provide a finishing function, the sandwich panels need to have certain mechanical properties and have sufficient fire resistance to retard the spread of fire within the vehicle interior. The present invention provides an aircraft interior panel with skins comprising natural fiber reinforced composites based either on an inorganic thermoset resin or a thermoplastic resin. Such panels provide the required flame and heat resistance, allow easy recycling and disposal, are cheaper and offer significant weight savings over conventional sandwich panels.

Chemically inert concrete composition
A chemically inert concrete composition includes, based on dry weight, about 50% to about 95% by weight glass particles and about 3% to about 40% by weight colloidal silica particles. Optional additional chemically inert ingredients can be included in amounts of about 3% to about 40% by weight. The concrete composition is substantially or totally free of Group I and Group II metal oxides, exclusive of the glass particles, and is substantially or totally free of cement.

EXHAUST FILTER WITH ACTIVE PLUGS
A ceramic honeycomb body having intersecting walls that form channels extending axially from a first end face to a second end face and plugs to seal the channels at least at one of the first end face and the second end face. The plugs include a first active component, such as a catalytically active component or a chemically active component, of the plug structure, wherein the intersecting walls comprise no first active component and optionally have a second active component of the wall structure or disposed on the walls. Included are methods of making the ceramic honeycomb body having plugs of the first active component and walls with no first active component.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL WITHOUT A HYDRAULIC BINDER
The invention relates to a method for producing a solid construction material which is preferably substantially free of hydraulic binder, comprising the steps of: a. extracting a mineral fraction comprising argillaceous particles of a soil; b. optionally adjusting the particle size of the mineral fraction extracted, in particular in relation to its clay, sand, gravel or loam content, if necessary; c. preparing a first aqueous grout from at least one part of the mineral fraction extracted and optionally adjusted in terms of particle size; d. adding a dispersant that can disperse the argillaceous particles in the first grout in order to obtain a second aqueous grout, e. adding a coagulant that can promote the agglomeration of the argillaceous particles in the second grout in order to obtain an aqueous construction material grout; f introducing the construction material grout into a formwork; and g. allowing the evaporation of the water contained in the material grout in order to obtain a solid construction material.
