Electron Conducting Carbon-Based Cement
A nanoporous carbon-loaded cement composite that conducts electricity. The nanoporous carbon-loaded cement composite can be used in a variety of different fields of use, including, for example, a structural super-capacitor as an energy solution for autonomous housing and other buildings, a heated cement for pavement deicing or house basement insulation against capillary rise, a protection of concrete against freeze-thaw (FT) or alkali silica reaction (ASR) or other crystallization degradation processes, and as a conductive cable, wire or concrete trace.
Method for producing honeycomb structure
A method for producing a honeycomb structure, the method comprising the steps of: kneading a forming raw material containing a cordierite forming material and then forming it to produce a honeycomb formed body; and firing the honeycomb formed body to provide a honeycomb structure. In the producing method, from 0.1 to 6.0 parts by mass of a magnesium silicate mineral having a 2:1 ribbon type structure per 100 parts by mass of the cordierite forming material is added to the forming raw material.
Anti-blast concrete and method of fabricating anti-blast structure member using such anti-blast concrete
An anti-blast concrete and a method of fabricating an anti-blast structure member using such anti-blast concrete are disclosed. The composition of the anti-blast concrete according to the invention includes, in parts by weight, 1.0 part by weight of cement, 1.0 to 2.5 parts by weight of fine aggregates, 1.0 to 2.5 parts by weight of coarse aggregates, and a plurality of reinforcing fibers. The weight ratio of the reinforcing fibers to the cement ranges from 0.5% to 3%. The plurality of reinforcing fibers are a plurality of carbon fibers or a plurality of aramid fibers. A test body, made of the anti-blast concrete of the invention, has an average number of times of repeated impacts at an impact energy of 49.0 Joules equal to or larger than 41 times at 28 days of age.
