A ready-mixed composition and a pre-mix composition for the production of a concrete material containing sequestered carbon dioxide, a CO.sub.2-containing water used in such compositions, dry-batch and wet-batch processes for sequestering carbon dioxide in concrete material, general method and process for sequestering carbon dioxide in hardening concrete, system and ready-mixed truck to perform such processes and methods for the production of a ready-to-cure carbonated concrete. Compositions comprise a concrete mixture and a CO.sub.2-containing water. The CO.sub.2-containing water comprising water and at least one of blended CO.sub.2 gas bubbles, dissolved H.sub.2CO.sub.3, carbonate ions (CO.sub.3.sup.2), bicarbonate ions (HCO.sup.3−), nanosized alkaline earth metal carbonate and nanosized alkali metal carbonate particles. The concrete mixture comprises a cementitious material, aggregates and at least one CO.sub.2-sequestering chemical for accelerating a CO.sub.2 sequestration speed and maximizing the captured amount of the carbon dioxide.
METHOD FOR MAKING CARBONATED PRECAST CONCRETE PRODUCTS WITH ENHANCED DURABILITY
A method for making a carbonated precast concrete product includes: obtaining a mixture including at least one binder material, an aggregate, and water; molding the mixture into a molded intermediate; demolding the molded intermediate to obtain a demolded intermediate, the demolded intermediate having a first water-to-binder ratio; conditioning the demolded intermediate to provide a conditioned article having a second water-to-binder ratio less than the first water-to-binder ratio of the demolded intermediate; moisturizing at least one surface of the conditioned article with an aqueous medium, thereby causing a weight gain of the conditioned article and providing a moisturized product, a first portion of the moisturized product having a third water-to-binder ratio greater than a fourth water-to-binder ratio of a remainder of the moisturized product; and curing the moisturized product with carbon dioxide to obtain the carbonated precast concrete product.
EFFICIENT INTEGRATION OF MANUFACTURING OF UPCYCLED CONCRETE PRODUCT INTO POWER PLANTS
A manufacturing process of a concrete product includes: (1) extracting calcium from solids as portlandite; (2) forming a cementitious slurry including the portlandite; (3) shaping the cementitious slurry into a structural component; and (4) exposing the structural component to carbon dioxide sourced from a flue gas stream, thereby forming the concrete product.
CARBONATION OF CONCRETE AGGREGATES
Provided herein are methods and compositions for carbonation of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) to produce carbonated RCA. In addition, uses of the carbonated RCA, such as in building materials, and building materials containing RCA, are included. Carbonation of RCA may be used alone or may be used in combination with other carbonation processes associated with concrete manufacture, such as carbonation of wet concrete mixes and/or carbonation of concrete wash water.
METHODS INVOLVING CEMENTS THAT EMPLOY CARBON DIOXIDE AS A REACTANT
A method of cementing an annular space between a pipe string and a well bore, the method comprising the steps of (a) providing a cement composition including a calcium-deficient calcium silicate; (b) mixing the cement composition with water to form a cement slurry; (c) mixing the cement slurry composition with carbon dioxide form a foamed cement; and (d) placing the foamed cement in the annular space between the pipe string and the wellbore.
Carbonation curing method to produce wet-cast slag-based concrete products
The present description relates to methods of producing a wet-cast slag-based concrete product particularly where the wet-cast slag-based concrete product is cast, pre-conditioned and cured with carbon dioxide inside a mould and/or inside a mould placed in a curing chamber. The wet-cast slag-based concrete product is optionally reinforced.
Production of wet-cast slag-based concrete products
The present description relates to a method of producing a wet-cast slag-based concrete product particularly where the wet-cast slag-based concrete product is partially or completely set inside a mould, pre-conditioned outside of the mould and then cured with carbon dioxide in a curing chamber. The wet-cast slag-based concrete product is optionally reinforced.
Composite blast furnace mineral powder and synthetic material made from same
A composite blast furnace mineral powder and a synthetic material made from same. The composite blast furnace mineral powder consists of the following materials in percentage by mass: 40-98.4% of blast furnace mineral powder, 7-20% of acrylic polymer emulsion or 1.5-3% of redispersible latex powder, 0.1-2% of fiber, 0-3% of pigment and the balance of filler. The composite blast furnace mineral powder can be pressed into a profile or a brick blank.
Methods of holistically diffusing carbon dioxide within a concrete mixture
A method of diffusing CO.sub.2 within a concrete mixture that includes mixing a non-recycled aggregate material with a CO.sub.2 gas in a pretreatment chamber of a concrete preparation system to form a CO.sub.2 adsorbed aggregate material, transferring the CO.sub.2 adsorbed aggregate material from the pretreatment chamber into a cement mixing chamber of the concrete preparation system, and mixing the CO.sub.2 adsorbed aggregate material with cement and water to form the concrete mixture, where mixing the CO.sub.2 adsorbed aggregate material with cement and water releases CO.sub.2 from the CO.sub.2 adsorbed aggregate material and diffuses CO.sub.2 into the concrete mixture to form a carbonated concrete mixture.
Concrete mixing and concrete products
Some implementations herein described improvements to concrete products and processes for producing concrete products that may provide a positive environmental impact and that can be stronger relative to the percent of cement used. Particular examples include improvements to zero-slump to near-zero-slump concrete mixture design, material storage and handling, batching, mixing, sequencing and curing processes, as well as forming and curing techniques.
