MAGNETIC POWDER AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
Provided are a SmFeN magnetic powder which is superior not only in water resistance and corrosion resistance but also in hot water resistance, and a method of preparing the powder. The present invention relates to a method of preparing a magnetic powder, comprising: plasma-treating a gas; surface-treating a SmFeN magnetic powder with the plasma-treated gas; and forming a coat layer on the surface of the surface-treated SmFeN magnetic powder.
CORROSION-RESISTANT CERAMIC
A corrosion-resistant ceramic of the present disclosure contains yttrium zirconium oxide as a main component and has a plurality of open pores. The difference between an average value of inter-centroid distances of the open pores and an average value of diameters of the open pores is 50 μm or greater.
TANTALUM CARBIDE-COATED CARBON MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present disclosure relates to a tantalum carbide-coated carbon material and a method for manufacturing the same, and an aspect of the present disclosure provides a tantalum carbide-coated carbon material including: a carbon substrate; and a tantalum carbide coating layer formed on the carbon substrate by a CVD method, wherein microcracks included in the tantalum carbide coating layer have a maximum width of 1.5 μm to 2.6 μm.
METHOD FOR DEPOSITING A DECORATIVE AND/OR FUNCTIONAL METAL LAYER ON A SURFACE OF AN ARTICLE MADE OF AN ELECTRICALLY NON-CONDUCTIVE CERAMIC MATERIAL
A method for depositing a decorative and/or functional layer on at least a portion of a surface of a finished or semi-finished article made of a non-conductive ceramic material, this deposition method includes the following operations: subjecting the at least a portion of the surface of the article to a carburising or nitriding treatment during which carbon, respectively nitrogen atoms, diffuse in the at least a portion of the surface of the article, then depositing, by galvanic growth of a metallic material, the decorative and/or functional layer on at least a portion of the surface of the article which has undergone the carburising or nitriding treatment.
Surface treated additive manufacturing printhead nozzles and methods for the same
Nozzles for an additive manufacturing device and methods for improving wettability of the nozzles are disclosed. The method may include subjecting the nozzle to a surface treatment. The surface treatment may include contacting a surface of the nozzle with one or more surface modifying agents. The surface modifying agents may include one or more of an oxidizing agent, an acid, a base, or combinations thereof. The one or more surface modifying agents may increase an oxygen content of the surface of the nozzle. An inner surface of the nozzle may have a water contact angle of greater than 1° and less than about 90°. The inner surface of the nozzle may be free or substantially free of a coating.
Silicon nitride ceramic sintered body and preparation method thereof
Disclosed are a silicon nitride ceramic sintered body and a preparation method thereof. The silicon nitride ceramic sintered body has a content of a silicon nitride crystalline phase of not less than 98 wt %, a relative density of not less than 99%, a porosity of not larger than 1%, a grain boundary phase including Li, O, N, and Si elements, and a total content of C, F, Al, Mg, K, Ca, Na and rare-earth metals elements of less than 0.1 wt %.
SINTERED CERAMIC BODY OF LARGE DIMENSION AND METHOD OF MAKING
A method of making a sintered ceramic body comprising the steps of disposing a ceramic powder (5) inside an inner volume of a spark plasma sintering tool (1), wherein the tool comprises: a die (2) comprising a sidewall comprising inner and outer walls, wherein the inner wall has a diameter defining the inner volume; upper and lower punches (4,4′) operably coupled with the die, wherein each of the punches have an outer wall defining a diameter less than the diameter of the die inner wall, thereby creating a gap (3) between the punches and the inner wall when at least one of the punches are moved within the inner volume, and the gap is from 10 μm to 70 μm wide; creating vacuum conditions inside the inner volume; moving at least one of the punches to apply pressure to the ceramic powder while heating, and sintering; and lowering the temperature of the sintered body.
