Disalt as robust primary surfactant for calcium sulfate mixtures containing recycled gypsum
The present invention relates to a gypsum composition comprising recycled gypsum and a foam former comprising at least one alpha-sulfo fatty acid disalt, to a process for production thereof and to an article comprising the gypsum composition of the invention. The present invention further relates to the use of a foam former comprising at least one alpha-sulfo fatty acid disalt for reducing the wet density of an aqueous gypsum composition having a recycled gypsum content of at least 0.5% by weight.
DOUBLE ENCAPSULATED STYRO-AIRCRETE BUILDING PANELS
The present disclosure provides designs and methods for manufacturing precast fully-encapsulated bilayered fiberglass Styro-aircrete building blocks. The disclosure comprises forming a super-light air-entrained Styro-aircrete building panel for a wall, roof, or beam. The Styro-aircrete is made with a novel composition/formula using shredded Styrofoam and other traditional Styro-aircrete ingredients that are mixed. Wire meshes and fiberglass fibers are pre-embedded in the panel frame to keep the structure in place. The Styro-aircrete is poured into a fiberglass panel frame from an opening, set aside to dry for a few days, and then sealed with a fiberglass cover. This frame and cover are double-layered fiberglass and form an all six-side enclosed casing. The method and designs improve a Styro-aircrete building block with the following: (1) much lighter weight; (2) longed durability; (3) increased compressive strength for load-bearing support; (4) reduced cost and installation time.

Solution is provided by porous ceramics and a method for producing the porous ceramics, which are ceramics having pores, the pores including open pores and closed pores, the open pores including a plurality of large-diameter open pores having a pore size within a range of 20 to 600 μm and a plurality of micro-diameter open pores having a pore size within a range of 1.0 μm or smaller, wherein the large-diameter open pores are distributed substantially uniformly all over the ceramics.
Water capsules and their preparation method, preparation method and structure of lightweight concrete
The present application provides for water capsules, preparation methods of water capsules, a preparation method for lightweight concrete and a structure of lightweight concrete. Each of the water capsules comprises an alkali-sensitive shell and water inside; the water capsules are used to mix with a cementitious matrix, the water capsules can survive during concrete mixing and transportation processes but then gradually rupture in hardened concrete; the water released during the hardening of the concrete is beneficial for the hydration of the concrete. The water capsules and their preparation method, the preparation method for and structure of the lightweight concrete of the present application are of unique design and strong practicability.
Thermally-conductive, low strength backfill material
A low strength backfill material having a 28 days compressive strength less than approximately 2.0 MPa is provided. The backfill is suitable for use in areas with dense underground utilities due to its high excavatability and good thermal conductivity. The backfill includes a cementitious binder of approximately 1 weight percent to approximately 10 weight percent and fine aggregates in an amount of approximately 40 to approximately 75 weight percent. Filler is provided at 20 microns to approximately 100 microns for high flowability. A density-controlling agent of 0.0001-5 weight percent is used such that the density of a cured backfill material is approximately 1600 kg/m.sup.3 to 2000 kg/m.sup.3. Thermally conductive particles having a size range of approximately 0.01 microns to 500 microns in an amount of approximately 0.1 to 10 weight percent are evenly dispersed throughout the backfill.
