METHOD FOR IMPROVING CEMENT TOUGHNESS
This document relates to methods for providing long-term zonal isolation in oil wells using cement compositions that contain triazine-based polymeric additives. The cement compositions containing the polymeric additives exhibit increased tensile strength, elastic strength, or both, without suffering a decrease in compressive strength, as compared to the same cement without the polymeric additive.
COMPOSITION OF A CEMENT ADDITIVE MATERIAL AS AN ADDITIVE TO CEMENTITIOUS MINERAL ADMIXTURES, AND UTILIZED AS LATENT HYDRAULIC BINDERS TO IMPROVE THE OUTCOME OF CEMENTITIOUS PRODUCTS
A composition of a cement additive material to improve durability of cementitious structures, was disclosed. The cement additive composition includes an admixture of one or more of divalent magnesium metal silicates with capacity to act as a latent hydraulic binder in said composition activated by a hydration process under aqueous conditions, and in particular the divalent metal silicate is magnesium-dominated silicate, preferably comprising mineral groups of olivines, orthopyroxenes, amphiboles, and serpentines or mixtures thereof. The composition also includes chloride ions or brine.
Cement materials including shape memory polymer and methods of making cement materials
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for modified cement material, methods of reducing or stopping cement shrinkage, methods of making modified cement material, and the like.
GYPSUM WALLBOARD WITH ENHANCED FIRE RESISTANCE, AND RELATED COATINGS AND METHODS
Disclosed are an organic binder-based coating; a composite gypsum board containing face and back cover sheets, an outside surface of the back cover sheet bearing the coating; and a method of preparing composite board where the back cover sheet contains the coating on its outer surface. The coating is formed from a composition comprising an alkaline silicate, a solid filler, and optionally, a borate. An enhancing layer can also be applied to the back cover sheet.
Enhancement of reinforcing fibers, their applications, and methods of making same
The invention relates to composite reinforcing fibers infused or compounded with pulp fibers and/or nano-fibers. The composite reinforcing fibers are composed of polymer, e.g., polymer resin. The pulp fibers and/or nano-fibers impart improved tensile strength to the composite reinforcing fibers, as well as a resulting product formed by the fibers. The composite reinforcing fibers may be used in a variety of cementitious applications, wherein traditional reinforcing fibers are typically used.
Method of producing nanoconcrete with high-energy mixing
In a method of producing nanoconcrete according the bottom-up approach of nano technology with the High-Energy Mixing of composition including cement, water, sand, additives and superplasticizers, the mixing is performed with flow of mixture characterized by Reynolds number and Power number in the range of 20-800 and 0.1-4.0 respectively with installation a disk horizontally into mixing assembly on the top layer of activated mixture coaxially with vertical axis of assembly and with the axis of impeller rotation on the adjustable level to avoid destroying created gel as a result of interruptions of process, to increase laminarity of the mixture flow, energy absorption by the mixture, and shear stress for creation additional quantity of the nanostructured Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) gel necessary for making nanoconcrete.
