Light weight gypsum board
This invention provides gypsum wallboards with a unique microstructure where the walls between voids are enhanced in thickness and strength to substantially improve the strength and handling properties of the wallboards. A method of making lightweight gypsum wallboards is also provided.
ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
An adhesive composition, in particular a tile adhesive, includes: a) 10-50 wt. % of a hydraulic binder, b) 20-60 wt. % of lightweight aggregates, c) 10-25 wt. % of a polymer.
DOUBLE-NEGATIVE-INDEX CERAMIC AEROGELS FOR THERMAL SUPERINSULATION
A ceramic aerogel includes a porous framework including interconnected double-paned wall structures of a ceramic material, wherein each double-paned wall structure includes a pair of walls spaced apart by a gap.
Method of manufacture for a lightweight, high-precision silicon carbide mirror assembly
An aerospace mirror having a reaction bonded (RB) silicon carbide (SiC) mirror substrate, and a SiC cladding on the RB SiC mirror substrate forming an optical surface on a front side of the aerospace mirror. A method for manufacturing an aerospace mirror comprising obtaining a green mirror preform comprising porous carbon, silicon carbide (SiC), or both, the green mirror preform defining a front side of the aerospace mirror and a back side of the aerospace mirror opposite the front side; removing material from the green mirror preform to form support ribs on the back side; infiltrating the green mirror preform with silicon to create a reaction bonded (RB) SiC mirror substrate from the green mirror preform; forming a mounting interface surface on the back side of the aerospace mirror from the RB SiC mirror substrate, and forming a reflector surface of the RB SiC mirror substrate on the front side of the aerospace mirror. Additionally, the method can comprise cladding the reflector surface of the RB SiC mirror substrate with SiC to form an optical surface of the aerospace mirror.
GYPSUM PANEL CONTAINING AMMONIUM-EXCHANGED VERMICULITE AND METHODS
This disclosure provides products useful as construction materials and containing set gypsum and ammonium-exchanged vermiculite, including a gypsum panel having a gypsum core comprising set gypsum and ammonium-exchanged vermiculite and characterized by decreased heat shrinkage and increased resistance to fire damage in comparison to the gypsum panel that comprises vermiculite that has not been ammonium-exchanged. The disclosure further relates to methods for producing the gypsum panel and constructing building assemblies with the gypsum panels, including walls and ceilings.
CLOSED CELL GEOPOLYMER FOAM
TA geopolymer foam having: from 50% to 90% by mass of pozzolanic material polymerized relative to a total mass of the foam; from 0.01% to 2%, by mass of the at least one surfactant relative to the total mass of said foam; and from 1% to 20% by mass of fibers with lengths of between 5 and 1500 μm relative to the total mass of said foam. A process and a composition for manufacturing the foam, as well applications of the foam, are also disclosed.
Finally, the invention relates to a kit comprising said composition for the manufacture of said foam, as well as a pozzolanic material.
STRUCTURAL ENERGY-SAVING, HEAT-INSULATED AND DECORATIVE INTEGRATED PLATE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Provided are a structural energy-saving, heat-insulated and decorative integrated plate and a manufacturing method therefor. The method includes: step 1: welding outer side keels, an inner side keel and a bottom keel into a wall framework; step 2: fixing an inner side decorative plate and an outer side decorative plate on the wall framework through shoot nails, and a hollow structure formed by the inner side decorative plate, the outer side decorative plate and the wall framework being a filling and pouring layer; and step 3: grouting the filling and pouring layer, to form a wall filled with cement foamed polystyrene particles. The present invention features a rational structure, manufactures an integrated wall plate with decorated inner and outer sides, and can replace patterns on the decorative plates. The integrated plate features energy saving, environmental friendliness, shock resistance, compression resistance, fire prevention, heat insulation and sound insulation.
Ceramic Surface Modification Materials and Methods of Use Thereof
Porous, binderless ceramic surface modification materials are described, and applications of use thereof. The ceramic material may include a metal oxide and/or metal hydroxide, and/or hydrates thereof, on a substrate surface.
Ceramic panel including slag and stone dust
A radon-free ceramic panel includes a mixture including two or more types of stone dust selected from among granite, basalt, limestone, dolomite, elvan, black stone, feldspar, and sandstone, along with waste slag and a non-phenolic adhesive. The ceramic panel is lightweight and has excellent fire resistance, heat insulation, corrosion resistance, water resistance, and ability to act as a bather to radon gas.
DRY-CAST LIGHTWEIGHT VENEER BLOCK, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
Described are dry cast lightweight veneer blocks and a system and method of installing lightweight veneer blocks. The courses can be assembled without mortar between the courses. As an example, sides of the veneer blocks have areas that recede from an imaginary plane between adjacent veneer blocks to give a deep texturing and a shadow effect between veneer blocks. The installation system and method include a substrate, an air barrier applied to the substrate, a plurality of veneer blocks, and an adhesive applied between the plurality of veneer blocks and the air barrier.
