Ultra-light mineral foam
A process for the production of a mineral foam includes (i) separately preparing a slurry of cement and an aqueous foam, wherein the cement slurry includes water and Portland cement; (ii) contacting the slurry of cement with the aqueous foam to obtain a slurry of foamed cement; (iii) adding an aluminum salt source before or during step (ii); and (iv) casting the slurry of foamed cement and leave it to set.
Curable casting compound for producing plastics moulded parts and use thereof
In one aspect, the disclosed examples relate to a curable casting compound for producing plastics moulded parts. For example, the curable casting compound may include a binder component on the basis of a polymerisable monomer and a proportion of approximately 40% to approximately 85% by weight of one or more inorganic fillers. In one example, the casting compound includes an aluminosilicate as one of the inorganic fillers. Other examples are provided.
SILICA MOLDED BODIES HAVING LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Hydrophobic shaped silica bodies having low density and low thermal conductivity are produced by forming a dispersion of silica in a solution of binder and organic solvent, and removing the solvent and shaping to form a shaped body. The shaped bodies retain their hydrophobicity, are stable with regards to shape, and are useful in acoustic and thermal insulation.
NOVEL MATERIAL AND PRODUCTION THEREOF FOR USE AS STORAGE MEDIUM IN A SENSITIVE ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM IN THE LOW-; MEDIUM- OR HIGH TEMPERATURE SECTOR
The present invention relates to a modified red sludge or a modified bauxite residue and processes for producing same, and to a storage medium comprising a modified red sludge, a heat store comprising a storage medium and numerous uses of a It modified red sludge as storage medium, more particularly in a heat store system. The modified red sludge here contains the following components: haematite (Fe.sub.2O.sub.3), corundum (Al.sub.2O.sub.3), rutile (TiO.sub.2) and/or anatase (TiO.sub.2), quartz (SiO.sub.2), optionally perovskite (CaTiO.sub.3) and optionally pseudobrookite ((Fe.sup.3+, Fe2+).sub.2(Ti, Fe.sup.3+)O.sub.5) and/or nepheline ((Na,K)[AlSiO.sub.4]). A novel material is thus provided, and production thereof is described for use as storage medium in a sensitive energy storage system in the low-, medium- or high-temperature sector.
POACEAE FIBRES AND BUILDING PRODUCTS
Chemically modified unpyrolyzed Poaceae fibres having a length of less than 200 mm advantageously comprised between 2 and 100 mm, such as between 2 and 10 mm, said fibres having a water content of less than 40% by weight, and being treated with a treating aqueous dispersion comprising less than 1% by weight of surface treating mixture comprising at least a silanol terminated polydimethylsiloxane, as well as an amino coupling agent.
Composition containing modified chromate-deficient red mud and method for producing same
The invention relates to a composition which contains modified chromate-deficient red mud, comprising a mineral composition of10 to 50 wt. % of iron compounds,12 to 35 wt. % of aluminum compounds,5 to 17 wt. % of silicon compounds,2 to 10 wt. % of titanium dioxide,0.5 to 6 wt. % of calcium compounds,0 to 1 ppm of chromium (VI) compounds, andoptionally additional unavoidable impurities. The composition, in particular the modified chromate-deficient red mud, contains a poorly soluble reducing agent for Cr(VI). In this manner, an inexpensive chemical composition is provided in particular as an iteratively functioning long-term adsorbent for pollutants in liquid, gaseous, and solid milieu. The invention further relates to a method for producing same and to uses thereof.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING INCREASED STRENGTH IN CEILING, FLOORING, AND BUILDING PRODUCTS
A composition for addition to a ceiling tile, flooring product, or other construction product may include microfibrillated cellulose and optionally an inorganic particulate material. The ceiling tile, flooring product, or other construction product may further include perlite, mineral wool, wood pulp, starch and other additives, where the wood pulp and other inorganic particulate materials are bonded to the microfibrillated cellulose. Methods of manufacturing the compound are also disclosed.
ULTRA-LIGHT MINERAL FOAM
A process for the production of a mineral foam includes separately preparing a slurry of cement and an aqueous foam, wherein the cement slurry includes water and Portland cement as well as calcium silicate hydrate crystallization seeds; contacting the slurry of cement with the aqueous foam to obtain a slurry of foamed cement; and casting the slurry of foamed cement and leave it to set.
Asymmetrical Laminate Panel and Method of Manufacture
The present disclosure relates generally to plaster wall panels, for example, suitable for covering interior wall frames. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a plaster wall panel including a first plaster layer, a second plaster layer, and a damping layer disposed between the first and second plaster layers. The first plaster layer has a first thickness and is composed of a first plaster material that has a first material property. The second plaster layer has a second thickness and is composed of a second plaster material that has a second material property. The first thickness is smaller than the second thickness, and the first and second material properties are different.
LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE
The present disclosure relates to a cement or concrete composition comprising a hydraulic binder, a water reducing plasticiser, a rheological additive, and composite spheres for lowering the density of the composition, wherein the composite spheres comprise a core having one or more coating layers thereon.
