The present invention provides for a compressible grout mix for filling an annular gap between a tunnel rock wall surface and a tunnel liner of a tunnel in a rock formation subject to time dependent deformation after excavation and a method of filling the annular gap between a tunnel rock wall surface and a tunnel liner of a tunnel in a rock formation subject to time dependent deformation after excavation utilizing the compressible grout mix for resilient absorption of forces in the hardened state of the compressible grout mix exerted by the time dependent deformation of the rock wall surface into the tunnel opening. The method includes:

a. providing the compressible grout mix comprising hydraulic binding agent, bentonite clay, polymer foam particles, water-reducing admixture, water and air,

b. placing the compressible grout mix in the annular gap between the tunnel wall rock surface and the tunnel liner, and

c. allowing the compressible grout mix to set, wherein the compressible grout mix in the hardened state has a compressible ratio greater than the anticipated time dependent deformation.

A two-component polyurethane composition including a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component, wherein the polyol component comprises at least one polyester polyol A1 based on dimer fatty acids and/or dimer fatty alcohols having an OH number of 65-350 mg KOH/g, at least one polybutadiene polyol A2 and at least one alkoxylated alkylenediamine A3. The polyurethane composition has high strength and only a minor dependence of the mechanical properties, especially strength, on temperature, especially in the range from −40° C. to +100° C.

Sustainable two-component annular grout composition and method for use with a tunnel-boring machine

A method and composition are provided for backfilling the annular gap created as a tunnel boring machine advances through the ground. The fill material is comprised of two components that are combined and mixed together just prior to entering the annular gap. The first component is non-cement slurry consisting of a fluidized bed combustion ash such as coal ash. The second component consists of an alkali silicate such as sodium silicate. Additionally, ordinary Portland cement and/or metakaolin can be added to the grout composition.

A free-flowing powder composition includes at least one substrate having pores and an external surface between said pores, said surface functionalized with at least one accelerator for a hydraulic setting composition, said accelerator being liquid, hygroscopic, or deliquescent, and wherein after 15 minutes of immersion of free-flowing powder composition in water at 20° C. at least 80% in weight of said accelerator is solubilized, said free-flowing powder composition being immersed in an amount of water sufficient so that the saturation concentration of said accelerator cannot be reached. There is also a method for preparing said free-flowing powder composition. The use of said free-flowing powder composition as an additive for mortar or concrete composition provides an accelerating effect, an anti-ageing effect and an anti-dusting effect. A dry mortar or concrete composition includes a hydraulic binder, said free-flowing powder composition and a granulate, wet mortar or concrete composition and hardened body obtained therefrom.

The invention relates to a method for producing a solid construction material which is preferably substantially free of hydraulic binder, comprising the steps of: a. extracting a mineral fraction comprising argillaceous particles of a soil; b. optionally adjusting the particle size of the mineral fraction extracted, in particular in relation to its clay, sand, gravel or loam content, if necessary; c. preparing a first aqueous grout from at least one part of the mineral fraction extracted and optionally adjusted in terms of particle size; d. adding a dispersant that can disperse the argillaceous particles in the first grout in order to obtain a second aqueous grout, e. adding a coagulant that can promote the agglomeration of the argillaceous particles in the second grout in order to obtain an aqueous construction material grout; f introducing the construction material grout into a formwork; and g. allowing the evaporation of the water contained in the material grout in order to obtain a solid construction material.

The present invention relates to a construction chemical composition comprising Portland cement, a water retention agent, a dispersing agent, and a hardening accelerator comprising calcium-silicate-hydrate, as well as a mortar composition containing said construction chemical composition. Although the composition is based on Portland cement it has a pull-off strength after 6 h meeting the DIN requirements and can therefore be used as a fast setting tile mortar.

The invention relates to a polymer which is obtainable by copolymerizing monomers comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer which comprises at least one acid group and at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer (II) having polyether groups with 5 to 35 repeating units and at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer (III) having polyether groups with 45 to 150 repeating units, the molar ratio of monomer (II) to monomer (III) being between 75:25 and 99.5:0.5. Further disclosed are the use of the polymer of the invention as an admixture for inorganic binder compositions, and a composition in powder form comprising an inorganic binder and the polymer of the invention.
