MINERAL BINDER COMPOSITIONS WITH ACCELERATED SETTING AND/OR CURING
Mineral binder compositions with accelerated setting and/or curing including a mineral binder, at least one free-radical initiator, and at least one catalyst for the at least one free-radical initiator. The mineral binder compositions accelerated setting and hardening and are especially useful for applications at low temperatures and even below 0° C.
NON-INVASIVE REPAIR AND RETROFITTING OF HARDENED CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS
An aqueous composition for repairing and/or sealing of hardened cementitious materials, especially of concrete structures, the aqueous composition including colloidal silica and a polycarboxylic acid. An aqueous composition shows a very high penetration depth as well as sealing capacity of cracked cementitious materials.
Method for making a lightweight gypsum composition with internally generated foam and products made from same
Method of making foamed gypsum slurry having 15 to 90 volume percent gas bubbles including: passing first slurry including water and on dry basis 50 to 98 wt. % calcium sulfate hemihydrate, 1 to 50 wt. % calcium carbonate, and 0.1 to 10 wt. % cellulose thickener via a first hose to a Wye connector conduit first inlet opening at Rate C and passing alum solution via a second hose to a second inlet opening of the conduit at Rate D to create combined mixed stream passing from the conduit to a static mixer for mixing for Time 3 to activate at least a portion of the calcium carbonate and alum to generate CO.sub.2 and create the foamed gypsum slurry; transferring the slurry from the mixer to a cavity between two wall boards via a third hose. Allowing the slurry in the cavity to expand, harden and dry.
CELLULOSE FIBRIL-ENHANCED REPAIR MORTARS
Repair mortar and methods of preparing repair mortar are provided. The repair mortar comprise a cement binder, fine aggregate and cellulose fibrils. In some embodiments, the cellulose fibrils are dispersed uniformly throughout the repair mortar. In some embodiments, the cellulose fibrils comprise nanofibrillated cellulose and/or microfibrillated cellulose. In some embodiments, the cellulose fibrils comprise an aspect ratio of between about 20 to about 500. The methods comprise mixing a cement binder, fine aggregate with water/chemical admixture to provide a cementitious material of good consistency, mixing cellulose fibrils with water to provide a cellulose fibril slurry, and mixing the cellulose fibril slurry with the workable cementitious material. In some embodiments, the cellulose fibrils are dispersed uniformly throughout the workable cementitious material.
Enhanced Adhesive Drywall Finish and Joint Compound and Method of Use
The present invention relates to an improved drywall finish and joint compound comprised of a mixture of fractured aluminum oxide, glass bead, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, magnesium aluminum phyllosilicate, aluminum silicate hydroxide, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, metamorphic mineral, sodium bicarbonate, silicon and aluminides, talc, kaolin, and metal oxide. The improved drywall finish and joint compound is capable of adhering to drywall, wood, concrete, brick, stone, steel and other surfaces, and can be applied using a conventional trowel or similar device, cures quickly, and eliminates the need for taping and bedding. The compound saves extensive time and labor when installing, repairing or working with drywall.
PLASTER COMPOSITION
A plaster composition includes a joint compound/drywall mud and from about 0.5 wt % to about 10 wt % silica (e.g., amorphous silica, hydrophilic fumed silica, and/or hydrophobic fumed silica). The plaster composition may be a repair composition. The repair composition may be dispensed as an aerosol using a propellant. The repair composition may be useful for repairing “popcorn” textured ceilings.
TWO COMPONENT REPAIR MATERIAL
A two-component repair material comprising or consisting a first component A comprising a hydraulic binder, and aggregate, and a second component B comprising an aqueous emulsion of bitumen and at least one synthetic polymer. Especially, the repair material is for repair of asphalt-based construction materials.
Cementation methods
The present invention provides methods for mineral precipitation and/or cementation of permeable or fractured non-porous materials using isolated urease.
Composite System and Method for Pile Construction and Repair
An epoxy grout composition for marine repairs contains: a liquid epoxy resin comprising up to 15 wt. % benzyl alcohol and having a viscosity of 220 to 1100 cps; a liquid hardener comprising up to 25% benzyl alcohol and having a viscosity of 50 to 85 cps and, wherein the total benzyl alcohol content of the combined resin and hardener ranges from 1 to 12 wt. %; and preferably, a particulate inorganic filler comprising 10 to 50 wt. % of particles under 150 μm and 50 to 90 wt. % of particles between 150 μm and 1.18 mm. The composition is particularly suitable for placement in the annular space between a marine structure and a fiberglass composite jacket. The composition may be provided in kit form, with premeasured containers of resin, hardener, and filler. A related method is also disclosed.
POLYMER POWDER COMPOSITIONS WHICH CAN BE REDISPERSED IN WATER
Spray dried homogeneous mixtures of a high molecular mass flocculating agent, a base polymer dispersion, and a protective colloid are useful for homogenously stabilizing mixtures such as dust, sand, and/or soil and produce a stabilized composition of high strength.
