Roof coating system
The invention relates to a roof coating comprising a bitumen layer with embedded particles.
Roofing granules with high solar reflectance, roofing products with high solar reflectance, and processes for producing same
Solar reflective roofing granules include a binder and inert mineral particles, with solar reflective particles dispersed in the binder. An agglomeration process preferentially disposes the solar reflective particles at a desired depth within or beneath the surface of the granules.
SANITARY WARE
A sanitary ware includes a base, and a glaze layer formed on an outer side than the base. In color representation by the Lab color system, an absolute value of a difference (L) between an L value obtained from observation of a part with the glaze layer formed thereon and an L value obtained from observation of a part with the glaze layer substantially unformed thereon is not more than 12, or a color difference (E) between a color in observation of the part with the glaze layer formed thereon and a color in observation of the part with the glaze layer 5 substantially unformed thereon is not more than 14. Even though the thickness of the glaze layer varies so that the color of the base may be shown more or less through the glaze layer, there is almost no difference in color seen from the glaze layer side.
Aerospace mirror manufacturing assembly
An aerospace mirror having a reaction bonded (RB) silicon carbide (SiC) mirror substrate, and a SiC cladding on the RB SiC mirror substrate forming an optical surface on a front side of the aerospace mirror. A method for manufacturing an aerospace mirror comprising obtaining a green mirror preform comprising porous carbon, silicon carbide (SiC), or both, the green mirror preform defining a front side of the aerospace mirror and a back side of the aerospace mirror opposite the front side; removing material from the green mirror preform to form support ribs on the back side; infiltrating the green mirror preform with silicon to create a reaction bonded (RB) SiC mirror substrate from the green mirror preform; forming a mounting interface surface on the back side of the aerospace mirror from the RB SiC mirror substrate, and forming a reflector surface of the RB SiC mirror substrate on the front side of the aerospace mirror. Additionally, the method can comprise cladding the reflector surface of the RB SiC mirror substrate with SiC to form an optical surface of the aerospace mirror.
Coating compositions for roofing granules, dark colored roofing granules with increased solar heat reflectance, solar heat-reflective shingles and process for producing the same
Dark colored roofing granules include an inert base particle coated with a composition including a metal silicate, a non-clay latent heat reactant, and a dark colored but solar reflective pigment.
SEAMLESS AND IMPERMEABLE JOINTS RESULTING IN A FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL: TRANSITIONING FROM GLASS TO GEOPOLYMER MORTAR
Materials that seamlessly transition from opaque to transparent or translucent, such as advanced geopolymer-based ceramics to glass structures, which can be directly and seamlessly bonded without the use of an intermediate adhesive or use of a frame are disclosed. That is, a GP-based ceramic to glass structure can be bonded directly and seamlessly and without any mechanical joints, connective tissue or adhesives such as caulking or epoxy. Such ceramic to glass materials can be prepared by sintering an engineered geopolymer with glass to form the geopolymer-based advanced ceramic-glass structure in which the interface is visually abruptly or in which the material is a graded composition with a controlled transition from one material to the other.
METHOD OF ENCAPSULATING SIGNALING AGENTS FOR USE DOWNHOLE
A method of monitoring conditions in a wellbore by disposing capsules with a signaling agent downhole, and monitoring the presence of the signaling agent released from the capsules that escape the wellbore. The capsules are formed by combining immiscible liquids, where one of the liquids contains the signaling substance, and each of the liquids contains a reagent. When combined, the liquids segregate into a dispersed phase and a continuous phase, with the dispersed phase having the signaling agent. The reagents react at the interfaces between dispersed and continuous phases and form polymer layers encapsulating the signaling agent to form the capsules. When disposed downhole, such as in casing cement, the capsule membranes can burst under pressure or temperature to release the signaling agent. Adjusting relative concentrations of the reagents varies membrane strength and permeability.
INFRARED (IR)-REFLECTING COMPOSITION AND INFRARED (IR)-REFLECTING BUILDING MATERIALS
The invention relates to an IR-reflecting composition that features a mixture of glass components selected from the group comprising hollow glass balls, full glass balls, hollow glass balls coated with silver, full glass balls coated with silver, hollow glass balls coated with aluminum and full glass balls coated with aluminum. The subject of the invention are further also construction materials which feature a coating that contains the IR-reflecting composition.
Circumferential coating material and circumferentially coated honeycomb structure
A circumferential coating material contains colloidal silica, silicon carbide, and titanium oxide different in particle diameters from silicon carbide, coats a circumferential surface of a honeycomb structure monolithically formed by extrusion, including as a main component, cordierite having a porosity of 50 to 75%, and forms a circumferential coating layer. A circumferentially coated honeycomb structure has a honeycomb structure comprising latticed porous partition walls defining and forming a plurality of polygonal cells forming through channels and extending from one end face to the other end face, and a circumferential coating layer formed by coating at least a part of a circumferential surface of the honeycomb structure with the circumferential coating material.
Cementitious compositions and methods of making and using the same
The invention relates to cementitious compositions, concrete compositions, and methods of making and using the cementitious compositions in the preparation of concrete. In particular, the cementitious compositions comprise a saccharide. In an aspect of the invention, the concrete compositions have improved properties, which can include, but are not limited to, increased flexural and compressive strength, improved wear, reduced permeability, and reduced slumping.
