PRODUCTION OF MAGNESIUM OXYCHLORIDE CEMENT BOARDS
The present invention is directed to processes for making cementitious construction material, in particular magnesium oxychloride (MOC) cementitious construction material (e.g., MOC boards). The processes relate to one or more operations of the overall material production process, including material storage and handling, mixing of materials, curing to form magnesium oxychloride cement, board handling, and/or packaging. Various processes of the present invention involve process control strategies and/or algorithms to provide improved processes for producing construction material. In particular, the processes of the present invention provide improvements in board properties as detailed below (e.g., racking strength), speed of board production, economics of board production, reduction in complexity of manufacture, improvements in consistency of board manufacture, and improvements in quality control.
METHOD OF SEQUESTERING GAS-PHASE MATERIALS DURING FORMATION OF HEMPCRETE AND MATERIALS FORMED USING SAME
A method of sequestering gas-phase materials, hempcrete formed using the method, and methods of using hempcrete are disclosed. An exemplary method includes providing a mixture of hempcrete compound material within a chamber and exposing the mixture within the chamber to a gas for a period of time to form hempcrete, wherein the hempcrete exhibits net-negative life cycle carbon emissions. A model to predict net life cycle carbon emission of hempcrete is also disclosed.
Insulation material and method of making same
An insulation material formed of a composition, and a method of making an insulation material is provided. The composition forming the insulation material includes magnesium oxide; at least one of magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and hydrates thereof; water; a foaming agent; a thickener; and a foam stabilizer. The composition is foamed to promote aeration of the composition to reduce density of the insulation material formed from the composition.
Pozzolanic by-product for slurry yield enhancement
A method may include providing a cement composition comprising ground vitrified clay, hydrated lime, and water; and introducing the cement composition into a subterranean formation.
Lightweight foam concrete with elemental sulfur
A foam concrete with elemental sulfur has constituents that include a cement, a fine filler, an elemental sulfur in powder form, a coarse aggregate, a water, and a foam solution. The foam solution includes a foaming agent and a foaming water. The foam concrete has a compressive strength of at least 26 MPa, a thermal conductivity of less than 0.30 W/mK and a maximum dry weight of 1620 kg/m.sup.3.
Apparatus and process with a vibratory angled plate and/or fixed horizontal plate for forming fiber-reinforced cementitious panels with controlled thickness
A production line and process including a moving carrier web for transporting the panel, and a device for controlling thickness of a formed, but not yet set, fiber reinforced cementitious panel slurry on the web. The thickness control device may include an angled rigid plate for contacting a downstream end of the angled plate with the slurry on the moving carrier web and a mounting stand for mounting the angled rigid. The thickness control device may include a flat horizontal plate at a fixed height over the moving carrier for contacting the entire lower surface of the horizontal plate with a facer on the slurry on the moving carrier web. Or, the thickness control device may include the angled plate and include the horizontal plate that contacts the facer.
Compositions, methods, and systems related to multi-modal distribution of vaterite particles
Provided herein are compositions, methods, and systems related to bimodal, trimodal, and/or multi-modal distribution of reactive vaterite cement particles.

Disclosed are a rock similar material satisfying a water-induced strength degradation characteristic and a preparation method and use thereof. The rock similar material satisfying the water-induced strength degradation characteristic includes an aggregate, a cementing material, and an additive, where the aggregate includes quartz sand, barite powder, and bentonite, and the cementing material includes cement and gypsum.
Cement slurries and methods for cementing a casing in a wellbore
According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a cement slurry includes cement particles, an aqueous fluid in an amount of from 10 wt. % to 70 wt. % relative to the total weight of the cement particles, and a clay stabilizer consisting of one or more polyethylene polyamines having a first structure H.sub.2NCH.sub.2CH.sub.2(NHCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.xNH.sub.2, where x is an integer greater than or equal to 3. The amount of the clay stabilizer may be from 1 wt. % to 10 wt. % relative to the total weight of the cement particles. The average molecular weight of the polyethylene polyamines in the cement slurry having the first chemical structure may be from 200 g/mol to 400 g/mol. All of the polyethylene polyamines in the cement slurry having the first chemical structure may be encompassed in the clay stabilizer. Methods for cementing a casing in a wellbore using the cement slurry are also disclosed.
