COMPOSITION COMPRISING AMMONIUM NITRATE-BASED PARTICLES AND A GELLING AGENT
20170166489 · 2017-06-15 · ·

The present invention relates to a solid, particulate, non-explosive composition comprising ammonium nitrate-based particles, in particular a fertilizer composition, of which, on the one hand, the potential misuse as a precursor for an explosive composition is limited without, on the other hand, hampering its legitimate use by farmers for food production. The solid, particulate, non-explosive composition further comprises a gelling agent which is able to form a substantially water-insoluble and non-filterable hydrogel after the solid fertilizer composition is contacted with water. The gelling agent is selected from the group of gum-based gelling agents, in particular xanthan gum-based agents and guar gum-based agents, most preferably is a xanthan gum-based agent.

Spray nozzle for producing a urea-sulfur fertilizer

A spray nozzle for production of urea fertilizer granules and/or urea-sulfur fertilizer granules has a conveying channel and an atomizing gas channel. The conveying channel has at least one separating pin and the atomizing channel has at least one swirl element. The swirl element has inserts, cutouts and moving and fixed elements. The disclosure also sets out a fluidized bed granulator with a spray nozzle for production of a urea-sulfur fertilizer, a process for producing a urea-sulfur fertilizer, and the use of the spray nozzle for production of fertilizer granules.

Manufacturing of Bioorganic-Augmented High Nitrogen Containing Inorganic Fertilizer
20170088474 · 2017-03-30 ·

The invention describes a new method for the production of high nitrogen organically-augmented inorganic fertilizer that incorporates municipal biosolids or organic sludges that can compete with traditional fertilizers such as ammonium phosphate, ammonium sulfate and urea on the commodity fertilizer marketplace. The method creates a thixotropic paste-like material from the biosolids or organic sludge that is blended with hot or molten ammonium salts, especially a mixture of ammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate. The invention can be an add-on to commercial production of ammonium salts or it can stand alone by manufacturing ammonium salts prior to their introduction to the conditioned biosolids. The invention is oriented to be tailored to production facilities for individual municipal waste treatment plants in order to keep manufacturing plants small with a minimization of logistics and liability.
