Comfort system for boots
A comfort system for Cowboy and work boots, including an insole chassis, an insole chassis backing board, and cushioning pads for absorbing and attenuating shocks encountered by a wearer of the boots. Cushioning pads are secured to a surface of the insole chassis backing board, and apertures in the insole chassis allow the cushions to pass through. Additional cushioning pads are retained in recesses in the midsole. Pads on insole chassis backing board and midsole are vertically aligned. A steel toe inset is utilized in conjunction with the comfort system for work boots. A rim may depend below the midsole to receive a foamed plastic pad.

BOOT ACCESSORIZING SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
A boot accessorizing system including a boot insert, wherein the boot insert includes a leg portion having a top and a bottom, a stirrup operationally attached to the bottom of the leg portion, and a sleeve operationally attached to the top of the leg portion, wherein the sleeve is adapted to be folded over to form a cuff to engage a top of a boot. A method of accessorizing a boot may include providing a boot accessorizing system and accessorizing the sleeve of the boot insert with one or more accessories. The method may further include inserting a user's foot into the boot insert, inserting the user's foot with boot insert thereon into a boot, and folding the sleeve over the top of the boot.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND DESIGN FOR A WATERPROOF BOOT
A waterproof boot comprises a bootie, such as a hiking boot, and a boot upper comprising a varying diameter tube of waterproof material. The boot upper may have a bottom opening that is sealed between an outer gasket and an inner gasket affixed to the bottom of the bootie. The boot upper may also have a top opening that allows a wearer to insert a leg through the top opening of the boot upper and into the bootie. The boot upper may extend more than three inches over the top of the bootie to provide an extended waterproof shield that prevents water from entering into the top of the bootie. The boot upper may include a gusset and a zipper and/or a horizontal Velcro strip and Velcro receiving area to enlarge (or contract) the top opening of the boot upper to allow the wearer to pull the boot upper over a calf of the wearer and improve the fit and comfort of the boot upper.

Reinforcement component for an article of footwear
A reinforcement component for an article of footwear is formed by a folded knit element. The knit element includes a plurality of strap members that are separated by slits when the knit element is in a contracted position. In an expanded position, the slits become openings between the plurality of strap members. The knit element has an upper portion that is folded over a lower portion so that ends of the plurality of strap members are brought together and a plurality of loops are formed along a top of the folded knit element. The folded knit element forms the reinforcement component and the plurality of loops are configured to receive a lace. Forces applied to the reinforcement component by the lace are distributed through the plurality of strap members across the upper of the article of footwear.

Systems and methods for enhancing boot comfort and style
Boots can be comfortable and stylish by providing expansion in the shaft of a boot. Portions of a shaft can include deformable and/or elastically resilient materials. A resilient portion can provide for ease of passage of a foot down the boot shaft. Resilient portions can be arranged to provide camouflaging and/or blending such that resilient portions can be difficult to distinguish from conventional stylings on protective materials of a boot shaft. Resilient features may be curved or angled to visually fit in with and even be camouflaged by surrounding decorative ornamentation on the shaft. Some boots can have resilient material within an opening having a transition from an upper vertical portion to a lower curved portion that includes a turn of approximately 90 degrees in the shape of the opening. Some boots can have straps that can be positioned to physically obscure portions of resilient material.
