SEED COATING TO PROMOTE PLANT GROWTH AND METHOD OF INCREASING PLANT YIELD
A seed coated with a seed grind, and optionally a source of sugar, a source of bicarbonate, and/or a source of fertilizer nutrient to supply plant roots with additional uptake-available carbon and energy to promote rapid growth. A method of coating seeds with the coating and a method of growing plants from the coated seed.
Urea granulation process with scrubbing system
A urea granulation process with a scrubbing system may involve at least one gaseous waste stream for removal of dust and ammonia whereby the waste stream may be processed through a combination of process steps. In some examples, the process steps may involve washing the dust and ammonia laden stream with water and/or an aqueous urea solution whereby a dust-laden liquid stream and a dust-reduced stream is generated. The process steps may further involve reacting the dust-reduced stream with formaldehyde to form a stream comprising hexamethylenetetramine and urea-formaldehyde and clean off-gas. In some cases, the gas stream may be directed first through the washing step and then through the reacting step.
Biofertilizer formulation from algae and related methods
A biofertilizer is disclosed that include specific formulations of algae biomass and a mycorrhizal fungus. This biofertilizer may be a useful way of utilizing algae biomass created for carbon sequestration purposes for a productive agricultural purpose. The combination of algae biomass and mycorrhizal fungus may provide advantageous effects to a crop, as the algae may be a nutrient source for both the crop itself and also for the mycorrhizal fungus that allows the fungus to grow and form a mycorrhizal relationship with the root system of the crop. The biofertilizer may be pelletized with rice hull filler and have a specific range of moisture content, so as to be compatible to agricultural fertilizer delivery equipment. Methods of manufacturing the pelletize biofertilizer are also provided.
Root Exudate-Activated System for Agrochemical Delivery
A system for delivering fertilizer to the roots of a plant includes coated fertilizer particles. The coating can include a cellulose derivative, optionally a fatty acid, and a component, such as an aptamer, which binds specifically to a material, such as serine, which is released by the roots of the plant when the plant is actively taking up nutrients from the soil. The permeability of the coating increases when the coated particles are exposed to the material released by the roots of the plant. Thus, nutrient release from the coated fertilizer particles is synchronized with uptake of the nutrients by the plant during active growth. Advantages of the system may include one or more of improved nitrogen use efficiency by the plant, improved crop productivity, and/or reduced leaching of fertilizer from the soil.

Liquid formulations of urease inhibitors for fertilizers
An improved solvent system for the formulation and application of N-alkyl thiophosphoric triamide urease inhibitors. These formulations provide safety and performance benefits relative to existing alternatives and enable storage, transport and subsequent coating or blending with urea based or organic based fertilizers. These formulations are comprised primarily of environmentally friendly aprotic and protic solvents (particularly dimethyl sulfoxide and alcohols/polyols) to stabilize the urease inhibitor.
