METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WASTE PROCESSING MIXED WASTE
A method and an apparatus for waste processing of mixed waste comprising an organic compostable waste portion and an organic non-compostable waste portion are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a shredder unit for shredding a load of mixed waste, a composting unit providing a microbial environment for composting the food waste portion of the mixed waste load, a heating unit providing a heating environment for heating the inorganic waste portion to a temperature higher than in the composting unit, and a control unit for controlling a moisture level of the mixed waste load in the heating unit. When the target moisture level is reached the shredded, composted and dried mixed waste load is transported to an exit unit for optional further processing as refuse derived fuel.

COMPOST SYSTEM WITH ERROR DETECTION
A controller for a compost system comprises a plurality of control outputs in communication with a plurality of compost devices. The control outputs are configured to identify an error condition of at least one of the plurality of compost devices. The controller is configured to control a first compost device configured to control a first environmental condition and control a second compost device configured to control a second environmental condition of a compost chamber. The controller is further configured to deactivate the first compost device in response to an error condition during a compost cycle. The controller controls the second compost device in response to the first compost device being deactivated preserving the compost cycle by compensating for the error condition in the first compost device.
Compost system with error detection
A controller for a compost system configured to identify an error condition is disclosed. The controller comprises at least one control output. The control output is configured to measure a load current of the at least one control output and generate a load value. The at least one control output is in communication with a compost device and is configured to control an environmental condition of a compost chamber of the compost system. The controller is operable to compare the load value to a predetermined value to determine an error condition of the compost system.
COMPOST BIN
A self-regulating compost bin is formed from a temperature-resistant plastic, and is configured to regulate its internal temperature and inform the user when harmful pathogens within the compost are eradicated. The main body of the compost bin is hollow with a lid having a window through which sunlight may enter to heat the compost. The compost bin may also have a controller in communication with a fan. The controller is configured to control an operation of the fan. The controller is also in communication with a transceiver. The controller alerts a user when the interior of the main body remains at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined length of time to ensure the compost is safe for use.
System and method of composting
A system and method for monitoring a network of IoT composting end-devices comprising one or more IoT compost bins, IoT composters, remote monitoring devices, and personal user devices. Each IoT composting end-device may have an embedded wireless communication module and sensors to measure an amount of compostable material contained therein. Measurements may be aggregated for user groups, households, communities, etc. and converted into metrics of aggregated amounts, sustainability, compost quality, composting cycle stage, status, composting conditions, and other parameters, which may be posted on a public forum to track and encourage community composting.
Apparatus, system and method for automated food waste processing
An automated food waste processing system including an enclosure secured to prevent unauthorized access to contents contained therein, the enclosure including a plurality of exterior walls and a food waste processing system housed within the enclosure. The food waste processing system including an imaging system configured to capture a plurality of images of the food waste and the non-biodegradable material received by the sorting receptacle, a processing system configured to process the plurality of images using a trained neural network to identify at least plastic waste and metal waste as the non-biodegradable material when included in the food waste input stream as received by the sorting receptacle, and a sorting system configured to, in response to instructions received from the processing system, automatically locate and remove the non-biodegradable material from the sorting receptacle to create a bio-degradable input stream to the anaerobic digester.
